Due to weather, we have postponed the 22 April battle to 29 April.

 

I am hoping to drop in for at least a little while on both days this weekend.

If y'all can find the time we are battling on Sept 16th and we are having a 2 day event on Sept 30/Oct 1st for the last of the season. Would love to see you guys come up and have some fun with us.

what time on Saturday should we be their to do speed trials?

 

I will try to be there by 9:30am all three days. We are expecting a lot of spectators for this event with a majority showing up on Saturday. With that said we will most likely have some speed trials early everyday and anytime the pond is open, but we will be trying to keep the battles going for the spectators.

Vance and I are tied up on Friday, and Saturday. But we will try to drop in Sunday afternoon to hang out and watch.

Wow, what a fantastic weekend. Battling conditions were great with sunny weather all three days.

We had a couple of guests on Friday, one which went home with a Duca kit, so hopefully we will see him at some of our build sessions. Seth also made it with his Alaska that was 99% done. It did get on the water for a shakedown cruise but did not battle. Next time I'm sure it will battle. While we had plenty of technical problems to work through, we did get in our two battles. We had one sink, perfect for the spectators.

Saturday we 4 sets of guests. We got most of them running a convoy ship and they seemed to enjoy it. We got our two battles in and did sink one of the convoy ships.

On Sunday we had a family of 5 come to watch. Their young son had more enthusiasm than any 4 of us. He was either running the rescue boat or a convoy ship the whole time he was there. They certainly had a good time, as did the rest of us. We got our two battles in and on the last sortie we had two withdrawals (one from each side) and sank a battlecruiser. That was a great conclusion to a great weekend.

Thanks to all to helped by bringing food, contributing to the grab bag, and helping others with their ships.

The MNCC is having their annual Battle of the Denmark Straits event this coming weekend in Xenia, Ohio.
Saturday, and Sunday May 5-6.
Battle site address is..
1880 Turner Rd. Xenia, Ohio. 45385
Both Treaty, and Battlestations will be there. Taking turns fighting sortie style battles.
At some point during the event, we will re-enact the battle of the Denmark Straits with the Treaty boats.
Some, if not most, of the Battlestations Denmark Straits boats are still under construction.

Our next battle is on June 9-10 at the Xenia, Ohio battle site.

We have decided to make the July battle a two day event at the Xenia battle site, so now it is July 14th and 15th.

I haven't found the time to post anything to follow up the June battle over the last couple weeks.
But I must say that I had a wonderful time at the event.
Vance was not able to make it out for either day, which takes some of the fun out of it for me, but that couldn't be helped. He has a lot going on now-a-days, so he will probably be hit or miss at events.
I decided to run convoy ships only at the event, and although it can be tough getting shot at all day without being able to shoot back, I must say that not having to worry about CO2 and cannons on my ship certainly does leave me with a lot more time to do other things. And it also allowed me to relax a lot more between sorties and battles. So I am kinda liking that part.
Although I was planning to run the Altmark, as it turned out I ran one of my favorite ships. The Bearn aircraft-carrier. She got shot up pretty good, and on at least one occasion, I thought she was going to sink, but that is a huge convoy ship, and she was able to complete all of her runs, and may have been a deciding factor in the scores.
Folks seemed to enjoy shooting at her as well.
So I will post this for now, and try to put together a battle report in the near future.

So how did Kas , and Craig do? Battled all week at Nats, then on to your battle Sat, then they told me they were going to battle today in Mich. Now those 2 are kind of crazy, lol
