We are battling in Xenia, Ohio this weekend. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The weather looks great. Turn-out looks pretty good as well.
Saturday will most likely be our best turn-out.
It looks like we will have some Battlestations boats on the water this time around battling.

I was just speaking with Matt and Gerry, and it sounds like Sunday would be the best day to try to have the big Battlestations battle.
So although I may try to get my Battlestations boats on the water on Friday or Saturday, it might be mainly just for some sea-trials, so that we can have as many Battlestations boats in the Sunday battle as possible.
Does anyone know what the current record number of Battlestations boats in a battle is at this time?
I am thinking 4-5 boats, or something like that.
Perhaps we can break this one.

    Well.
Things are looking really great for the event this weekend in Xenia.
We are anticipating a good turn-out with the Treaty folks, and we plan to get a lot of battling in.
There will be Battlestations boats there, and we plan to finally get some Battlestations battles in this time around.
I have not heard that there will be any Age of Sail ships on the water this weekend. But you never know.

I have spoken with the weather folks, and they are forecasting great weather for our event.
I have spoken with the oil folks, and they have agreed to keep the gas prices down so that folks can afford to come to the event.
They were not willing to commit to keeping the prices down all weekend. So folks may have to pay somewhat higher prices to get home.
Sorry. But that is the best that I could do.
I also spoke with the troopers, and they will only give folks with combat boats in their vehicles a warning ticket this weekend.
So drive safe, but fill up earlier than later. Don't bother with the umbrella.
    Let's battle.

There is some talk about having a battle in Versailles in late July, or early August.
We will keep you posted on that.
Currently, our next scheduled battle is our annual event. Task-Force 3. Sept 5-7 at the Xenia, Ohio battle site.

There are only a couple of folks talking about something in August. That is not to say that it won't happen.
But it would probably be just a one-day event, with a very light turn-out. In Versailles.
Most of the folks that I have heard from are working towards having everything ready for the annual
Task-Force 3 event in Xenia on Sept 5-7.

We will be setting up a boat-display at the Hobbies for Hospice R/C event in Dayton next Saturday. The event starts at 11 am, and goes into the mid-afternoon.
Sunday is the rain-date for that event.

    Looking at the databases.
We currently have 25 Treaty ships listed, with perhaps 16-18 Treaty captains.
So we are anticipating a pretty good turn-out with that format.
It is possible that we might break the current Treaty record for ships on the water in a battle.
But it doesn't seem like a priority with the folks this time around.
I think the current record is around 16-17 ships.
The Axis, and Allied teams have a nice mix of ships listed. And there is also a fair number of non-aligned ships.
So we will use them to help keep the teams fairly even.

The priority this time around seems to be to break the current record for Battlestations ships on the water in a battle.
And we hope to do that at least one time, if not more. And in addition, we are hoping to almost double the current record.
I am not entirely sure what the current record is. Perhaps 4-5 ships, or something like that.
We have had more Battlestations ships than that at an event in the past. But we never seemed to be able to get, or keep,
them all on the water for a single battle.
We currently have 10 Battlestations ships listed on our database.
There are a couple more floating around the group that may be added to the database. But they are not ready at this time.
So we will have to wait and see.
Currently, the Surcouf submarine is on the database. But unfortunately, I think that it will drop off, as it is not currently ready,
and I am not sure that it will be, as I have fallen behind schedule on it.
We have 4 days to go until we hit the water.

I will be holding a session on how to fiberglass the bottom of a wood boat. My place in Beavercreek OH, 2pm on Sunday 28 Sept. I'll be doing the USS Texas for Eric, if you have something to fiberglass, bring it. I'll also have some benches open if you just want to work on your boat.

We have a local battle scheduled in Versailles, Ohio this coming weekend Oct 11-12.
Currently the weather is looking cool and dry on Saturday. Sunday looks warmer, but with more of a chance of rain.
Currently there are several Treaty boats on the database, but as yet no Battlestations boats.
