I normally resize my pictures to 800pxls. In the last photo of the Treaty ships, there is one ship that is sunk. What ship is that? Looks sort of like a Baden/Bayern. Beaver
The Surcouf was out on trials twice on Sunday. The first run was just a short sea trials to make sure that the drive train, rudder, and pump worked. The second run was to test the cannon. Everything seemed to work well except that she had a twitchy rudder. She did not enter into the combat this time around. But it was very cool getting her on the water for the first time. We are currently trying to figure out how we want to make her submerge. Mikey
There was an over abundance of cool at the Conference this year, awesome ships, many new Battlestations vessels on the water, which has steadily grown as a format over the passed few years, an exciting time for both formats, thanks for everyone who could participate in making the event all it could be.
One of the local news guys stopped in at the hobby shop, and they sent him out to the battle site on Friday. He rolled up in his news van and ran a short piece on the event that we were having. Some of the folks took their turn at entertaining him. Roland shocked him when his Baden sank right in front of the camera. Matt awed him with his brand new Battlestations HMS Hood. David, Stephen and I chatted up the hobby. Bat was instructing Nikki on the finer points of boat launching. And Mark put a transmitter in his hands and let him run the rescue tug. Lights and sirens included. Chuck was amazed. It was awesome. Mikey
Stephan also has a copy of the video. Perhaps he or Keri could figure out how to post it, although there may be copyright issues that would prevent the posting.
