Have you ever reached for a tool, only to have your hand bounce off the mirror? ;) :D

Nice work on the shafts. I like the jig you built to align the shafts. I'll try the foam tape too to hold the shaft in place. Good photos of the work.

She is coming along nicely Steve.
I look forward to seeing this neat little boat out on the water.
I also look forward to running my LeTerrible with her.

Has there ever been three or more DD's on the water at one time before? One DD is a nuisance, a bunch working in concert could be interesting. A BB on five would be carrion! Heh, heh. heh....

The real question is to get even one on the water, three is just a pipe dream

Last year at the Tangler we had 2 DDs as main warships all weekend. They liked to shoot me, all weekend, that got old. But I did put like 2 holes in one of them and ran one over and sank it once.
In 08 we had a DD 1on1 at NATS, very funny.
We planed to have a class 1 battle at NATS this year with 3 DDs and a CVL but the rains came and put an end to that.

I take it the one you ran over crossed your "T" a little to close while trying to land shots in your bow area?

They spent most of the weekend shooting me. I spent a lot of time chasing them away from me. I caught it one time and ran him over, it was pretty far from shore so both of us thought the ships were not so close.

Looks good, I know a few people that run servos upside down and swear by it as a way to keep the water off the electronics inside. As a suggestion you might want to consider putting some sort of screen or something around the gears so bits of crap/bbs/whatever dont get in your gears and cause them the bind up since they are so close to the bottom of the hull. Also you might want to have a couple of spare servos that the same mount on them in case that one dies, missing a battle because something broke and you cant fix it in time isn't fun.

Spares are a given. A debris sheild sounds like a good idea also. I'll tack that on the end of the project list...

Looking good, Steve! You are a great builder! Be aware that tubing was tried in the past and it swelled over time causing two bbs to get side by side jamming the magazine.

    Marty,

The tubing is .190" id and rated at 500psi and was sourced from McMaster. Is this the same stuff your speaking of?

Why not use a delrin ring and a cap with a hole in it? Mechanical and solid.
