I finally opened the pkg containing my new Turnigy 9CH Tx for the Montana. I got to say it's a very nice radio with lots of switches and dials . Going to be fun to operate the various functions on Montana which I will be outfitting with Sound effects, lights, anchors, rotating and elevating barrels and the basic drive and steering . Montana will have 4 drive motors, and of course working smoke from both funnels.

I post a pic however my computer is in the shop under repairs. Will be awhile before I get it back again.

Still trying to figure out the new TX. No instructions came with it. You have to either download the instructions or go to Youtube and find the vids of how to set up the radio.
Strike did show me a pic of the Montana superstructure and once it is ready it will be shipped out to me. Looking forward to receiving it and getting this bad boy started.

Yeah and lots of programming. Confusing as heck. I would have paid extra or have the price factored into including the instruction manual.

Here is a basic manual for the 9x. Explains stuff pretty nicely. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uploads/1025944141X614892X54.pdf
Plus, if you go the HK page for the 9x and click the FILES button, there is loads of stuff there. Some is in other languages, but there is some useful stuff there.

Ok work has started. Subdecks are fiberglassed into the hull. The access hatches have their first coat of resin on the one side. I need to reinforce the hatches. The coat resin on the hatches is still tacky. Arrgghh. So far though once it dries then I will clean it all up. Finish the hatches and then start marking and drilling out the rudder placement holes and shaft holes.

The subdeck is fitted in with beveled edges along with the bow section . The can is actually a lead weight to keep the forcastle deck in place. I tacked CA every couple of inches to keep the subdeck in place till I can fill the gaps with epoxy resin.

I could not reach in underneath the long forcastle to apply fiberglass matt on the inside so I went topside.
