    Hi Curt,
What's the title of your You Tube post? All I found under Battleship Montage was videos from movies.

Nice video Curt. How about doing one in which you describe your ships?

That is something I would like to do. I would like to do that after the VU and Montana are finished. I could probably do it before that though. I located all the Nabs videos but the VCR I have which is a combo/DVD player the heads on the tape player need to be cleaned and no place in town has a head cleaner for that. I hope I still have my VHS tape head cleaner. I did convert the vids to DVD but the sound is horrible. I may still be able to use it and just so a music sound track over it. I was planning to play the vids and have the camcorder record it. Then download it into the computer where I can edit the film.

In the meantime Bob I posted the IRCWCC 2010 video but instead of trying to watch 11 vids I just took all of the Sidemount action from them all and put it into one simple video.

Did you see the vid I did for the North Carolina? Not the deck mounted but the other one.

I posted a couple of pics of Warspite on FB on Titans Of The Sea: RC Warships. That is my FB page. It is doing well. If you have any pics you like to post there go right ahead.

I started work on the stuffing tube skeg assembly but had to leave the shed dye to the extreme winds and flash freeze. Will go back at it again Wed.

    Hi Curt,
We had a flash freeze during Tuesday's blzzard. The 12k (7 mile) drive home took almost 2 hrs. It took Kim and me nearly 3 hrs to chop our way through high banks of ploughed-up snow turned to solid ice overnight, chip a thick layer of ice off the car, and chop the tires free of 4" of solid ice before I could leave for work yesterday. More of the same is due tonight and will probably reach you in St. John's tomorrow. I was saying po Kim that frequent storms like this were the reason I moved back to the mainland after three winters in Nfld.!

If you have any photos of my HMS Courageous can you post them on the current Courageous thread? There were two really good telephoto shots of her sinking and several of her under way. I have the original photos but no way of scanning them at present - might have given you copies. There's some good video footage of Courageous that you have on NABS tapes: running in rough water at Maynard Lake, and battling Bismarck on the same day.

Hi Bob we got nothing out of the flash freeze. Was expecting to see ice everywhere this morning but it was clear and dry and well no snow hardly at all around the property and the cul de sac. I know I have pics of Courageous but not many. I do remember that video and I started going through the converted VHS to DVD but the quality so far is bad. I still haven't located my VHS tape Head Cleaner and will need to get the heads of my machine cleaned before the tapes will play. That particularly video of the battle at Maynard with Courageous I remember well and I think I may have 2 copies of that. If I can get the tapes to play on the VHS I can record them on the camcorder tripod viewing the TV and then go from there to download them to the computer and put them on here in the media section. When I find the Courageous pics I will post them on the Courageous Thread.

Well I posted some pics of the Skeg and the stuffing tube drive shaft set up on my FB page Titans Of The Sea: RC Warships. I will post the pics here. I had a difficult time with the skeg and the tube. Problem was my approach to it. I should have done it the way I did NC. I uploaded photos to my FB Page so I could view how I went about it. I will do the 2nd Skeg drive shaft differently. I just had an issue getting the tube to angle and fit into the skeg but it turned out good afterward. Not sealed up yet as there is more work to do and the Shed is too cold for Resining even with the Heaters on.

Work on Montana suspended today due to the Blizzard of 40 plus Centimeters of snow and blowing snow.

Skegs have been built up more to surround the stuffing tubes. Drive motors mounted to motor mounts. Rudder block temp installed. Needs more work to line up the rudders and secure the block that will hold them in position for the rudder stuffing tubes to sleeve over the rudder posts. The pump is semi assembled and I placed it in various positions. Right now it is between the skegs just beyond the stuffing tubes exiting the skegs. I need to have clearance for installation of rotating systems for the aft Turrets.

Worked on the water channeling. Not finished with it yet. Installed the rudders but one of the posts is further ahead than the other. Found out why, One of the rudders has their shaft post mounted further ahead than the other one. I can still make it work for now but I like my rudder posts to be in line with each other. I am not using gears but instead rudder linkages so I can still make it work. As long as the rudders themselves are aligned evenly.

The temp was above freezing this afternoon after the morning's snow and freezing rain combo. Ice is still one foot thick on some Halifax streets. Never saw anything like this before in my 30+ years in Halifax - even worse weather than my 3 winters in St. John's Nfld.!

Hopefully it will be warm enough in April to finish an HMS Albatross I gelcoated last year and glass the fiberglass decks on the Vanguard and Rodney hulls.

Tried to work on Montana but dang it too cold. Even layered up and with heaters on it is 20 degrees F. I can't get any more 1/4 stuffing tubes at 12 in length so I will use the next size smaller and go with that. My hobby shop ran out of the supply. I was playing around with direct drive setup but I don't have sufficient clearance for a proper mount for direct drive. Sooo back to the gear mount. I will make new sleeves again this Thursday If I don't freeze first.

Well despite the deep freeze that is ongoing and will be for the next 5 days I braved the elements and managed to get one of the motor mounts with drive shaft and motor installed on the port side. I tested the motor mounted and connected to the gears to the drive shaft and even though the mount is only tacked in along with the stuffing tube containing the drive shaft I had a successful test. Barely any vibration at all . Smoother than the NC setup though I am using the same mounts. I did reduce the size of the stuffing tube down from 1/4 inch as my Hobby store was out of stock. I ran out of propane fuel on the torch so between my solder gun and 6 Bic Lighters I was able to solder the telescopic tubes on either end on both shafts, file them down and grease the stuffing tubes. So looks like I am over this hurdle and will have a successful install of the drive system. Will finish the starboard mount tomorrow and test that one too. After that will be mounting the rudders. I posted a little vid on face book on the Titans site. The gear box sounds loud but it is not as bad as the phone mic will have you believe.
Geez all I ask is a little warmer weather. Sheesh!!
