I may actually be able to do it, just need to decide on how I want to go about it. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

Also I have a pair of guns that were donated to me for my EQ that I can use in the Scharnie for the time being. So I really only need one more 50 rnd strait for the stern and then the rotate in the bow.

The gentleman who built my KGV used some rotating black plastic plumbing fittings from Lowe's with a rotate style cannon from Battlers stuck in it, and a pulley at the bottom turned by a sail winch servo.

OK, got any pics? I think I have a good mental picture of what you mean, but pics are always helpful.

So it just rubs on the deck? Hmm, seems fairly simple.

I see where it would be useful though.

Dual stern and 2 sidemounts seems a better bet . Less complicated and your covered for firepower in the majority of your quadrants. If the belt breaks during a battle while the gun is facing the bow or one side only then you have to contend with a undefended side quadrant or the sidemount not in a favorably position for targeting. If for fast gun the targets are moving too fast for the rotate to be effective. Particularly if there are multiple targets in your gun range and they are next to point blank range. Then your too busy trying to figure out which target to point the gun at and in which time your enemies will see indecision and fully exploit it. However what ever works for you is important. I do like the set up for the rotate. Rotates work well for slow unmaneuverable ships. Sharnie is neither slow or unmaneuverable.

Having two side mounts up front is a waste of a cannon since scharnhorst is not manoeuvrable. Best to use its speed for defense, since having the two side mounts up front will just make you want to use them, and that will get you in trouble/sunk.

I'm going to get sunk at some point, I'm OK with that. It's all about how much fun I have and how much damage I dish out in the process.

Do triples to start with. I had trips in mine, and a rotate in b turret. Eventually I didn't even bother to keep the rotate working, as I almost never got any real use out of the sidemount. Someday though, I'm gonna try and refit mine with three sidemount a and two pumps....just to see how that goes.

I guess I'll just have to do all the above in succession so I can decide what I like. To many good suggestions and points to know what will truly be ideal for me.

That is VERY good advise. KISS

Scharnhorst has high freeboard in front. Put in the triple aft and keep that bow pointed away from the bad guys. Don't see a lot of rotating guns in IRCWCC. There is a reason for that.

Go crazy and put three sidemounts in it and run two pumps. Hand out lots of bellows that sink ships and take lots of damage.
