Well, the small motors on gear drives we tried in the Montana were a bust. While powerful enough, they got so hot you could cook a steak on em. One died mid sortie. So going to go to a set of Johnson's.

New motors are in and the ship is driving great. Very impressive turning radius. It almost out turns my USS Michigan. However, the guns are freezing up after about 15-20 shots. Once I get that issue sorted, she will be awesome.

Scharnhorst wakes from its deep sleep. Not to bad for being in storage for so long.

Looking at the way this build was done I find a couple things I feel the need to upgrade. First is the water channel. If you look here you can see where there are pockets that trap water and must be filled before water can move to the channel to flow to the pump. This leaves several ounces of water to be dried out after sortie. One more step is like to eliminate during a rearm and patch between sorties.

The rear pockets are for two of the four batteries. I already eliminated 2 of the batteries so those too will need filled. While the ships overall reliability was great, I now have the time to fix some of these little issues that were nagging me. Second I want to remount the guns so the decks can be more easily removed while also not having to remove the guns from the system. Pitb when trying to diagnose a gun system issue and the decks are required to be on or at least very close to be attached. I may just have to compromise here again as I'm fresh out of good ideas on how to fix that is said to my liking.

Also want to redo the power distribution buss. To save some space. Also looks like a few spots that could use some more waterproofing inside.

Here's a mistake I forgot about. Not really a mistake, more of an it's good for now thing. This rudder servo would be a very long swap pond side due to it having a soldered on cable extension going all the way to the bow and ziptied along it's entire length. Lol. Not a good idea. Also I was never happy with how hard it is to get to the pump for cleaning. Requires removal of the relay and the speed control as well as thier mounting plates. Talk about a long process to do pond side. I have since learned better ways to do these things lol. Thanks for the continuing education guys.

So now I will fix these issues.

The guy who originally built this did a great job. I absolutely love how with just a few zip tie cuts you can remove the entire wire harness with the firing circuit complete for bench top maintenance and or troubleshooting.

Think I am going to revisit my bow gun rotation device design and upgrade it to swivel both guns opposite each other simultaneously. It makes it impossible to mount them to the hull without having to remove the barrels to remove the deck so they will have to stay mounted to the deck. I will just have to deal with it.

Should be able to start stripping the sheeting shortly. Hopefully I can get some good weather to do the glass work on this as well as the second hull I was given. Not sure yet if my little brother will end up with it or if it will get fitted out for big gun yet.

This is why I never had issues with the pump. Lol. Man I love the screen job here. I may just revise the mount a bit.

Note. This thing has been full of bb's after several sorties. Never got anything in the pump that ever made it even stutter. Gotta be something done rite there.

I made the harness for that exact reason. The bus bar will handle 100 amps FYI.....

Comparison of the two hulls reveals the a difference in window layout. Not so sure the tip one is rite. I'd like to think the way Jadfer built the bottom one is closer to ideal. Looks like I have some reading and math ahead of me. I was really hoping to skip that part this time, lol

Ran outta steam this morning. Had to get some sleep. Since the doc put me on these vit d pills I've been having trouble sleeping. Loads ef energy for a change, but no consistent sleep. It's kind of messing with me. I'm sure some have noticed it. I doubt I will get to the point that I go all rage out, but I may seem a bit IDN off is about the only way I can describe it. Kinda having to take more time and think before I react to things lately. Seems I am very easy to irritate now. Hahaha. Ok so not THAT much has changed. Lol.

Found a hobby store that was closing and had all the wood 75% off a while back. Got every sheet of 1/32 ply he had. All 6 of em. Been hidden for over a year now. Waiting to finish this P.E. Then it will go on to do a few other builds later lol. 15877541435056140735953362557999.jpg This was off the sale price. 75% off. Lol.

These babies are the best ever IMHO. Sat for almost 7 months in Oh before I returned and brought it home to Ok about a year or so ago I'm guessing. Less than 5 min each, full charge. Love it. 15877600161613335544624419773537.jpg Got the storage area repacked so my brother will have room the truckload of stuff he and Pop went to Montana last week to retrieve. They should be home tomorrow evening.

There's a sink under the counter on the left and a table under the planes on the right and some lumber in the corner. But the rest is all planes cars tanks and boats. Oh and supplies. Mmmmmmm. Wonderful supplies.
