Here are a few pictures showing what I did to the guns, and why I wanted them shorter, they are about perfect now. Can be used in either the forward or stern turret.

Working on soldering the expansion tanks right now, and the placement for the solenoids. I will have to adjust the magazine CO2 feeds, since I angled them in a bit, but I find it would be better if they were down, right now it makes for a tight fit around the CO2 bottle.

[^][8D] WOW it looks amazing so far. You got your self a beauty there. The cannon setup is freaky but amazing. What kind of tube bender was used to get the mags like that?

They fire great is what matters, I thought they looked cool myself, Rick from BC wants me to make a set for his new Lutzow, for the same reason to cut down on how far the mags extend into the hull.

Right now I'm working on adding the water channeling to the hull. Using Mikey Deskin method, so it will take about a week to install it.

I used a Wire bender from McMaster Carr, it belongs to BC.

Wire Bending Kit for Complex Shapes

This compact tool can form wire and flat metal into complex shapes including bends on multiple planes, S-shapes, squares, and coils. Use with wire and rod up to 5/16" dia. and flat metal to 1" Wd. x 1/8" Thick. Can be clamped in a vise or bench-mounted using two 5/16" dia. holes (hardware not included). The kit includes 3/16", 1/4", 1/2", and 1" dia. circle pins; one sharp-angle die; a form pin follower; a bending gauge; and a 1-ft. long handle. Overall size is 9 1/2" Lg. x 2 1/2" Wd. x 3 1/2" Ht. (not including handle). Made of steel.

What is the advantage to use the U magazine in a Lutzow? I'm building a Lutz now. :)

Bending them like that puts the mags in space that is open. The middle of the ship has the batery, radio box, pump... I've bent the Warspites around like that and did two more bends to have the duel stern fill inside the rear turret. It was not that easy without a fancy bender. My loops have to be a lot larger.

Nice work Dave, pretty nice to know a guy with all the tools.

The magazines will not extend so far into the hull. On Rick's Lutzow the magazines extend so far that it makes it hard to get to everything in the center of the ship, this way it leaves the center clear.

Here is my water channeling pictures, it looks like it will work fine, now it just will require a few days to harden. It is looking real good actually, except up forward it is off a little to the port, but the water will not know it.

    View from forward.

Why not tip the ship to one side and set the concrete sealant on the low side so there is a slope? It'll take twice as long, but it'll give better drainage.

Or did you do that and the pictures don't show it.

I did the stern yesterday, and tilted the bow way up, right now the bow is actually lower than the stern, so I will have a bit of down slope. I was thinking about doing the same thing, tilting to the side a bit, and doing each side one at a time, but the channel is 3/8 deep, so it should be enough, hopefully.

How much weight did that sealant add to the ship?

I used less than 2 tubes of it, each tube is 10 oz, so my guess is around 16 to 18 oz total. I still had 4 pounds to play with. I just added the sealer that is around a pound, and I still need to add the turrets, superstructure which is small and simple, and electronics. The receiver, firing boards, and pump relay board, so I should be ok, I think I will have about a pound to spare.

Interesting waterchannelling. I never thought of using concrete sealant. Are those bulkheads there temporarily? Where are you placing the pump? [:)]

Yes they are temp, just till the sealant hardens. Mike Deskin has it in his Frenchy boat, and another fellow used it in his Bismark I think, its where I got the idea to try it.

For right now since I'm going to try single firing tripple bow guns, the pump will go in the rear open area.

The motors are on the way. I don't know if the gears will take it as they were designed for 550's

Could you measure the distance between the output shafts on the single motor dual shaft gearbox? I need to see if I could use that for PE.

Hey looking really good! Are you going to be battling the PE at Nats or the Roma?
