Hey guys, I'd thought I'd throw this up here.... who doesn't love a challenge? This is from one of the Japanese digital archives.... in a folder for US destroyers. To me the bow shape screams early British dreadnought.... I'm just not sure which one. The drawings were not labeled which is why they were likely stuck in the wrong place. Anybody who wants to help solve the mystery message me and I will send full size scans.
The draft of the most early dreadnoughts/battlecruisers (excluding the actual Dreadnought) only various from about 26 to 28 feet according to Conway's.... with the Orion Class DNs only drawing 24.... it could be any of them. All of the info is jumbled together in archive. The scale is marked on the plan.... if anybody has the ability to print them full size or has fancy software that lets them take measurements.... the beam and draft may be clues.
Yes, most likely Lion class or Queen Mary. Here is a set of Queen Mary plans. You'll notice how similar they are.
If they are for Lion or Queen Mary... then they would be the only drawings for them that I have found there. I found some for the Bellerophon Class, Indefatigable Class, Orion Class, King George V Class and Iron Duke Classes.
Well guys, A forum member was nice enough to measure the full size drawings.... and they don't really match up to any British Dreadnoughts. In addition, the bow and stern profiles may not even go with this body plan... so this one may stay a mystery.
Sorry, my mistake. I was trouble seeing the pics earlier so I downloaded them but apparently got the ordering confused and thought the ones with the Russian text (which were actually the Queen Mary posted by Beaver) were for your mystery ship. Nevermind...
