Just thought I would remind our MBG Brethren that NABGO 2013, the 9th annual North American Big Gun Open is scheduled for July 1-7, 2013, in Kaufman, Texas (just outside Dallas), at starbrandranch.com. This is a week of getting together with battlers from all over the country for shipyard time and battling. The Chesapeake Battle Group has made it all 8 years (they bring family and make a vacation of it - plenty for Admirals and ensigns to do in the Dallas area), and WWCC has sent representatives twice. I have heard rumors that MABG is planning a delegation for 2013. You can see an example of schedules through 2012 on the NABGO site under event information. One change over the years is the increase in non-battlling shipyard time by popular request. If you want to arrive early and/or leave late for additional time, we have accomodated that as well. Meals and drinks are, of course, included in the cost as noted on the forms. Do keep in mind that you do not have to come for the entire 7 days - the main battling is Fri-Sun, and you can come for just that. However, you will be missing a lot of fun and camaraderie in the shipyards if you cut the trip down to just the battles. Remember, when we say "non-battle" days - we do not mean you cannot battle - the battling pond will be open. These are traditionally days of shipyard work and testing (and inspections, etc.), but many have been known to go out for some skirmishes as well.
