I hope we do two campaigns, I'd hate to carry a bunch of convoys and leave them in the room.

Tug, are you going to both NATS? If so, are you carpooling?

I'm open to carpooling. If I go solo, I'll drive the hybrid.

Did some math. If I assume that after taxes, a week in a hotel comes to $350 (half the room cost for the week), and the gas varies between $170 (TX and back) and $115 (MD and back). Gas is based on me driving my hybrid at 40mpg highway, or splitting gas with someone in a vehicle that gets 20mpg.

Main cost issue is the hotel room. I will see how much I can get saved in the short term. One Nats is easily doable.

    Where do you live Tug?
I'm in Kentucky, and the drive is not too bad to GreenBriar... can easily do that in a day... I plan on taking the family van, it has good gas mileage.
I will be picking up Jeff Lipp for the IRCWCC NATS. I think he will drive up to me, work that Friday on boats, then head over to MD. We might be able to grab you too....

As for Texas... I first have to make sure my professors are ok with me missing the days. I am sure they will if planned ahead. We have a 7 day policy were you are dropped if you miss more than 7 days. The school week is 4 days, so I just need to cover 2 or 3 days... I think it is doable. Class begins the 6th of Jan and I will know then.

My only real concern is will the trip, the heat, and the cost at Texas outweigh the level of fun... :crying:

I live in South GA, about 45 minutes inland from Savannah. That said, I plan to head north on I-81, I-95 gets too crazy near DC for my liking.

Yup, but 9 hours isn't bad in the hybrid. Comfy and it's got XM radio. The Florida guys all pile in one vehicle, so I doubt they'd have room. Convoy?

I have obtained permission from Homefront-6 to proceed to Maryland in June. Let the festivities commence, let the boatwork intensify!

Good news! :) Sounds like I'll be able to attend two days, so I should be able to get some battling in.

Can't wait for June to get here, not only to do some battling, but to put the faces to the names. :)

It is, but I'm a member in both clubs. Maryland is a lot closer and I haven't seen most of my IRCWCC buds since 2012 Nats.
It is NOT a reflection on you or your hosting ability. I believe that you're the only Nats host to date that has had the Dark Lord of the Sith show up to show the defeated Admiral how disappointed he was... :) No one will ever top that.

    It's not in Texas....

Official announcement hasn't happened but I suppose since it's only a day or so til the new BOD takes over some of the slack can get taken up

Veterans Lake in Elk River, MN got the nod.
