I walked past a booth set up at the regional fair and saw some model warships,
I turned around because said model warships were shooting at each other.

Big shout out to the entire Southeast Attack Squadron for putting together the booth and inviting me out to the November Turkey Shoot here in Statesboro a couple weeks ago. I had a great weekend meeting everyone, being outside at the pond, learning about the hobby, sinking someone elses boat, failing to recover said boat so far, and just generally being excited to have found the hobby. I went home with a used SMS Baden purchased from a local Captain and am looking forward to having my own ship sunk in Feburary.

    Work planned (so far):
    • Move my sketch diagram from the whiteboard to some sort of wire diagram app?
    • Replace all wiring
    • Reconfigure cannon placement
    • Install
      • quick disconnects in air lines
      • clear plastic mags
      • brushless pump and drive motor
      • new rudders
      • new prop
    • Switch to Li-Po batteries
    • Switch to chain drive rudders
    • Design and install a small float for ease of recovery if (when) I mess up and sink in the deep end

Hey, Nate! Was great meeting you. Baden will be a good starter. Looking forward to seeing it on the water. If you need help don't be afraid to reach out.

Thanks Caleb, it was nice meeting you as well. Thank you for the uploads on You-Tube as well.

I decided slow, manuverable, and 5.5 units would be the way to go to get me started.
If you had a fresh slate with 4.5 units (1 unit pump) and 2 double mounts bow and stern, what would you set up?

I think I saw you with li-po batteries? Whats the C rating on yours?

To start out I'd go with duel sterns (possibly 15° off the side) a 75rnd haymaker, and a 50rnd bow sidemount.

These are the batteries I use and recommend. Can't go wrong with them.

    Excellent, thank you.

By haymaker are you implying a certain angle or just the fact it's a 1.5 unit with 75 rounds?

Haymaker is just a simple way of saying Stern Sidemount.
