You're making fun of a poor rookie who was at his 3rd battle. You evil Axis guys pushed him into a campain port and trapped him there. One of you even backed under the port bars to shoot him. Evil, Evil. I only wish I was over there to watch it, must have been pretty funny.

Check the battle reports, the Allies outnumbered us every sortie, for a few minutes, till they had a few boats sink. [:D]

Actually, according to my metrics before Nats, the Allies had a hard fight ahead of them. I also predicted the Axis loss last year. It's just numbers. The Axis had more experienced captains and fewer new ships. This was also helped by the fact that a large portion of the Allied fleet attempted to avoid battle. Running gets you shot up faster than anything.

The way I counted it, he made 4 mistakes in a row to get in that position. (your count may vary)
It was perhaps a "Learning Experence".

Also, where do you get the CO2 bottles, regulators, etc. I know people are going to say 'Battlers Connection," but aren't there any other sources available?

    Cheers,
    Ed

    Hey Ed,

How far are you from sawmill? I know a guy down there who used to be in the hobby, and happens to run a hobby shop - so he'd could hook you up with most of the stuff you need (and know if you need it or not).

He probably won't have CO2 bottles or regulators, but any local paintball store should... or you can look online. If you can't find one by the battle, talk to Buddy and he probably has a spare you can use.

Im a big fan of the adjustable regulators that Palmer Pursuit shop sells, some people seem to have trouble with them for some unkown reason (make sure you get the low pressure version). I think you can buy the williams regulator straight from Williams(search williams balloon) if you want a huge chunk of brass. I dont have a specific source for tanks, search the internet or local paintball shops and buy from whereever is the best deal. Depending on what regulator you use you may need a tank with a 1/4 turn valve, also some fill stations people have you have to have a 1/4 turn valve for it to work, but the either valve will work with most/all commerical fill stations.

You can buy any required clippard parts straight from them or whoever thier local distruibutor is fairly easily, or get them from mcmaster carr and not have to pay an extra $10 handling fee clippard charges. Extra burst disks and tank O-rings are easy to get at walmart or your local paintball shop if you're there getting a tank might as well pick a couple spares up.

If you want to use KIP solenoids then BC really is the best way to get them unless you know of somewhere else where you can order less than 25 at a time. I'm a fan of the clippard 12V solenoids, they have worked flawless so far and I consider them almost fully battle tested after NATS. (just make sure your battery voltage doesnt drop to low, they seem to be ok as long as you stay about 6 V, in the 5.5V-6V range it might start to get questionable and below 5.5V be prepared to not be able to move/pump and fire at the same time. a decent size cap. in the circuit with them might help that issue, dunno I dont have that issue so I doubt i'll test it out)

I'm VERY close to Sawmill. That would be the very closest place for me to visit.

    Thanks,
    Ed

It's the little disk in the CO2 tank that breaks and releases the pressure so your tank doesnt turn into a bomb if you overfill it or leave it in the sun or whatnot. Very handy to have a spare or two.

I don't think solenoids would be much of an advantage for you at the moment Ed... not until you get in a bigger ship, but it's up to you!

The shop in sawmill is HobbyLand, right beside Borders and The Buckeye Corner. Its just a hop skip and a jump down from Hobby Lobby as well, if that helps. Ask for Sean Hert, he should be able to to help you out. I'll try to get ahold of him today and get his hours to you.

    Hey Ed,

Sean said he's be happy to help. The hours he works are Wed-Fri 10-5, Sat 10-3, Sun 12-5. He said weekends would be the best time to come in, but whenever works for you! He can also point you in the direction of some local paintball shops for CO2 equipment.

    Further info:

    Hobbyland
    6650 Sawmill Rd
    North West Square

    Phone #: 614-766-2300

Tell him I said not to scare you TOO much!

Tell us more about your clippards 12 volt. Expensive? Different type of setup?
