The new ship yard is coming along. The shed has a ceiling now and the walls have insulation and paneling. I will have a 13 ft long by 25 inch wide bench with electrical hookup. The other side of the shed currently has the drill press, scroll saw, table saw, and belt sander. The Band saw will be installed when I get back from vacation. I will have shelves installed and a exhaust fan installed for when I am painting. The shed is near the house so I am going to be using it hopefully this winter. It will allow me to build the projects but not have to take trips the current shipyard. I plan to be videoing for youtube the build sessions for the remainder of the fleet. NC will be finished up here at the new shipyard but I plan to have the baptismal build session of the USS Montana .
So I plan to order the Montana when I get back from Vacation. Get goodies I need to outfit it and detail. Looking forward to this:woot:. But finally I will have my own space for a shipyard and will equip it well. Looking forward to completing the fleet.
I'll be leaving Oct 3 rd and will be back in 2 weeks.
    Cheers.
    Curt

Glad everyone is happy. Once I am ready to order I will revisit the thread and indicate to the guys if they still want to contribute to shipping the Big M here.Hope so , it will free me up ot order additional goodies, like a..... Arizona kit........I would pay the shipping that would result from that ship being shipped with the Montana. It should fit inside the Monty's hull quite nicely.

A small canoe can fit inside a Montana hull without too much problem!

    I'mmmm baaackkkkk!!!

Had an awesome Vacation. Ate lots of great food, took in the sun and the roller coasters, cruised the bahamas and got fat . Next saturday I will be getting the materials to build the work bench and get the shelves installed. After that then I can get prepared to order the Montana.

Whew I am tired. I finished moving all of my stuff from the old shipyard from the center of town to my place. I filled all the shelves save one direct above the bench. The remainder of the shelves are fully occupied by the ships, some completed, some started, some not started, some just cut out only and some with just their weatherdeck on.
The lower shelves beneath the bench is 98percent full . I have my plans cannisters ready to put my ship plans in and protect them. I just need to sort out the 3 bags of small tools and material and accessories and they will occupy the last shelf. Back in the house the small room that housed the 4 big ships and tools looks half bare but this will be cleaned up and organized for my paints and solvents to be during the winter in room temperature so they don't freeze or get to cold to use. I don't know how I am doing this but I figure the years of military rat packing has helped me put a lot in to a small space and still be accessible. The car was full when I loaded it up from the garage.

Still a lot of work to do yet as I sort through everything and begin to catalog what each ship needs and get a building system in place. I have a lot of unused material I am anxious to get used up. Any way it's nearly 1am and I need to go to bed. I will take a few pics of the new yard with the stuff there and post them sometime tomorrow or sunday at least.

Saw the pictures. A very nice ship yard. I think I will have to re-org my work bench area.

I will have to make it a priority stop. Which means I will probably be over this winter. It seems I end up visiting st. John's when it is winter time. Only other time i was there when there wasn't a ton of snow was for your wedding.

I moved more materials and tools to the shipyard. So I think I am ready to resume work on the NC. I plan to use up all the materials I have on hand and stockpiled before purchaing new stuff again. Bins and the like storing the stuff will eventually dissappear and free up space as the resources and materials are used up.

This weekend saw activity in the yard finally. Captn Cromwell stopped by to work on his IJN Nagato. Anothe A.R.C.C. member assisted in sanding the exterior of the USS IOWA also of Captn Cromwell. Captn Cromwell brought his large Convoy ship which will be operational next summer for convoy action. The Monitor Erebus wil be converted to a runner.
So there's 19 ships at the Yard right now. Next sat a visit from a potential new member will bring his RC combat 1/144 destroyer. I am looking forward to seeing that ship as it would make a great escort with the freighter Tom brought along.

Still awaiting on the Montana but I was able to get a small plan off the internet with details so I sm studying that. With Montana's arrival in the yard that will bring the total to 20 ships in the yard. That's the limit.
