    Good evening guys!

My name is Cody, and I am looking at getting into R/C warship combat for the first time. Always loved building models of everything growing up, and now at a place where I would like to get back into it. A friend turned me onto this and I would like to learn more about it and to make sure this is something I want to pursue as a hobby.

    Thanks folks!

It is a great hobby. major issues are that you find a local group and see
    1. what ruleset variation/organization they battle with and
    2. are components available?

Big Gun has an issue getting the key component of cannons so the IRCWCC ruleset is the widest used one. good luck.

    Cody,

There are only two clubs near the SF bay area. PMWC with a Sacramento area pond and WWCC with a Watsonville pond.
    Both are big gun.

PMWC is 1:72 scale, limited arming of ships to allow simpler, less expensive ships (destroyers) to be competitive.

http://pacificmodelwarshipclub.com/ See their Contacts section for Deryk and Gary.

I am not sure about fast gun clubs. Gary from PMWC has been in contact with past fast gun captains and would certainly know more about this. Fast gun is typically 1:144 scale.

WWCC is 1:144 scale, allows fully armed ships
