Anyway, When mom and dad when to busy beaver they got the 14-gauge wire, But it white, its not the normal black And red wire, Is there a way to color code them or should i get the Red and Black wire??? http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/ss192/NASAAN101/LST/wirefortheLST.jpg .. I'm not say i didn't when it, But i know what i need for her! i'm also looking at how to keep the batteries from moving, any ideas? also I wasn't trying to get you mad at me ok!Nikki
Skotchkote is a conformal coating that you brush / or drizzle / or pour (depending on your mood, your particular can and the target of your skotchkote) onto something you want to waterproof. It is extremely sticky when wet, it smells bad, is difficult to remove- wet or dry, and is generally pretty vile stuff. But those same properties make it great for out needs. If you want to use all white wire, thats not a major problem, just use red and black electrical tape or sharpies to mark the wires appropriately. We have a local battleship that has most of its internals done with brown lamp cord.
Nick, O wow that's wild!!! That neat! I'm also looking at how to keep the batteries from moving side to side! Do you have any ideas???? I can't wait til it get warmer out!!! OK, Kind of an OT question, Is it wrong to went to use my LST to fish with? Nikki
Balsa blocks, velcro, hooks and rubber bands, magnets. Depends on the size and mass of the battery and the space you want it to stay in.
Nick, I have two 6volt SLA batteries and a 7.2volt Ni-MH battery pack, with my looking at this also: http://www.batteryjunction.com/tenergy-6v-1600mah.html .. Let me know what you thing ok! Nikki
given that a 6v SLA ranges from the size of a pack of playing cards to something that could sink the Yamato, you're going to need to be a little more specific. Generally if you intend to create a way to hold your batteries in place, they need to be roughly the same size. It is inconvenient to have multiple sizes / different types of batteries - so of what you listed, what will actually be going into your LST?
Nick, The SLA batteries I have are thoses: http://www.batterymart.com/p-two---6v-4_5ah-sealed-lead-acid-battery.html .. There two lbs batteries, But I'm not using both in the boat, I use one til it deads and then up the other on in, But Those will only be for When i run her one my own! the other one which was in the message but here ( http://www.batteryjunction.com/tenergy-6v-1600mah.html ), i'll use at the battles!! Nikki
Ok, you're missing my point. Do not plan for different battery types. One or the other. Since you already have the SLAs, and theyre cheaper, use those. Abandon all ridiculous plans to have a set of something else for battles. You will only cause yourself problems. Trust me. You do not need more complication in things. Keeping SLAs in place is easy. Esepcially in a convoy ship with space in the hull. Lay the SLA in the hull of your ship in the manner you want it to be. Move it around until your ship is balanced, port and starboard, fore and aft. Use a sharpie to mark that location. Find some blocks of balsa, pine, poplar, whatever. Tack them in place around the battery such that it can wiggle a little (about 1/16 - 1/8" side to side at most is needed). Make sure you haven't blocked the terminals of the battery. Remove the battery so you don't inadvertandly glue it into your hull. Secure blocks with more superglue, epoxy, whatever you want. Also, dont discharge 'til it deads' - you'll find yourself swimming for your LST or having people push you back to shore a lot.
Nick, How far should i let the batterier go down til?! The problem is, she going to be moving between two groups: IRCWCC and Treaty! But the issue ia, She needs to be under 2lbs in treaty, and I know She dosen't have a weight limit in the IRC! I wasn't trying to be complicate things, I'm just working with the idea of moving her between two clubs, that's all! But i understand what your saying ok!! Nikki
hey Mikey or Nick, Do either of you have a photo of the speed control with the Skotchkote on it, so i can show my mom?? It would be a big help when we do it! Thanks, Nikki
No, but there isn't really anything to show. You coat the board thoroughly in Skotchkote. When you're done it just looks like a brown lump with wires sticking out, maybe a heatsink sticking out if what you're coating has one.
Guys, I meant No Disrespect to all of my friends on here, But I just wented to let you all know I put another Thread up about Water-proofing my Dynamite Tazer 15T and a Futaba FP-R 112JE 2-Channel Receiver! The Reason being is, I have a few friends on there (RC Groups) that are not on here, or there more of a RC plane gruop there anyway, so I just put the Question up on there, And I meant No Disrespect to any of u, you all have be really great with me!!! I hope None of you are mad at me for it??? But the Question I put up on there was, and this is the tail end of it: I was looking at using the 3M Scotchkote Electrical Coating and then putting both of them into a baggy NOT TOGETHER, but in diffince baggy! but I'm not sure just yet!!! i'll just have to see if mike Deskin is coming for the RC Flea-market out here on Fed. 5th and if he dosen't have to get home, to show mom and I how to do it!!! I'm bowing out for a few day, I need to just take a few days off and think about things ok! Nikki
If you're skotchkoting them, dont throw them in bags. Water will just find their way in to the bags (usually along the wires) and then you'll have a bag of water. I'll try to remember to get some pictures of a receiver that's been skotchkoted so you have an idea of what the end result looks like.
Nick, Like I said: I meant No Disrespect to any of u, you all have be really great with me!!! I hope None of you are mad at me for it??? Nikki
Nick, I know! But anyway, I'm hoping to have her up for this season!! but I'm not holding my breath!! I'm half-temder to use the Speed control that my Andera doria has and then but a new one for doria later on! What do you guys thing? Also, I had this wire laying around, dose anyone know the size of it?? (http://s575.photobucket.com/albums/...ckwire.jpg) Also, is it safe to rap the wire connectors on the Motors with Electrical type or is that a bad idea? the reason, I'm asking is, i don't went the wire coming off the motor in the middle of the battle! thanks, Nikki
Guys, http://s575.photobucket.com/albums/ss192/NASAAN101/LST/?action=view¤t=InsidetheRadio.jpg .. Is there a way to waterproof your Radio for the Boat??? Right now, My LST has a Two Channel Radio! I would like to get a three channel, so i can Keep her mainly in Treaty, and put the pump on the Third channel!!! Nikki
The same way you waterproof all the other electronics, which should be pretty obvious by now since you've asked this question many, many times already.
Nikki, you may not have been trying to get anyone mad, but we do get frustrated when you do not listen to what we have said many times before.
