    The short, simple version:

Transmitters with the short antenna generally use the 2.4Ghz frequency band, the older type with the long antenna use 27, 29, 32, 40, 72 or 75Mhz, depending on which country you live in and if it's for ground or air usage.

I'll leave the brain-melting, complicated, angst ridden, full explanation to those with more knowledge, time or both.

    Dave,
The Radio That i have for my LST is a very old Futaba Attack 3 radio!!! But Its got the frequency maker on the top of the antenna and that's what i poked myself in the eye with, but i can't take it off! so i might just put some type on it so it not so pointy!!! bur all the looking that ive done, it seem as if this radio has been Discontinued!!!

Theres nothing wrong with using a discontinued radio. Electronics aren't on the market for long before something newer is put out to replace it. If it works, use it.

    Exactly.
I use an old, reliable, Attack 4 for my Liberty, and it's never let me down.
Until recently HMS Rodney was operated with an equally ancient Flash 5.

The transmitter I use for my 1992 Tamiya F1 Sauber Mercedes is over 20 years old. Still works great.

If the radio that came with it works, keep using it. Don't waste time and money replacing what isn't broke.

Nikki, worry about that when the time comes. What you're looking at now might be discontinued by the time your current radio fails.

Eh dont bother kuz as soon as you start looking your old radio will go bad, thats my luck anyway. but the others are right if it works use it its almost pointless to get another controler and waste the money if the controler you got works just as good.

heat it up or cool it alot, i peel my glue gun glue right off usually its never a problem for me, but if it comes down to the worst acetone works good gotta let it soak for about 4-5 min but be careful will damage finishes and paint.
