Guys, Sorry, I wasn't trying to mix you guys up!!! My LST will get a pump, Just not right away!!! but she will have a pump, Next year!!!!! With this being my First year with her on the water, i went to go with as little as possible at the moment!!! Nikki
ok then simple put mesh around both the pump and the motors and if your really worried add the magnets thats what i would do and the magnets will bring the weight to the middle vs the sides. idk if the bbs do much to the weight.
There is a hobby store There and I'm taking her with me, so i can get Get a few little odds and ends to finish her up!!! I might hold off on the magnets at least for now!!! Nikki
Hey Guys, I'm close to re-sheeting My LST, Can you use the Amazing E-6000 Glue, to put the Balsa on the hull?? or would it be better to get the Contact Cement! what do you guys thing? Nikki
I would not use it. It has an instant bond so if you don"t get on right the first te then you are going to have issues. I would recommend going to a Wood Working shop and grab a bottle of CA Medium Density Glue.
I think you would have better luck with the contact cement. Contact cement will stick instantly if used correctly. E-6000 may require clamping, taping, or even holding the sheeting in place until it dries.
I have had great success with contact cement. It's easy to use and when it comes time to resheet, removal of balsa and cleanup of the hull is far simpler than when I used CA. Some people may find the smell of contact cement a bit strong, but at least you won't glue your fingers to your ship.

Gluing your fingers or clamp to your ship is an experience that all captains should experience, well atleast once. For me, the smell of contact cement gives me a mind numbing headache.
Hey Guys. Thanks for all the help!!! I'm hoping to have photos of her on the water this weekend!! Nikki
I also use contact cement. The last time I stripped a hull that had CA used, it took hours and I had to use a sander to get the hull surface smooth enough to resheet. With the contact cement, the old balsa is easily removed with a sharp knife. You have to use it in a well ventilated area, but it is no stronger that dope or resin. J
Guys, Can you leave some of the old wood on there so the Contact cement has an batter gap on it? or should i just sand it down? Nikki
+1 on the contact cement. I do my sheeting outside, so the smell doesn't really get to me. All the old balsa needs to come off and you want the rib surfaces to be consistent.
Guys, Mom and I were able to get the motors wires on and tested! so I'll get the sheeting and the speed control done at the battle, and i'm hoping to have a 10 or 15min video up when I get home ok! But Can you post videos on here and how do you do it? Thanks, Nikki
Guys, Sadly were spent more time talking then getting the LST up! But I have three mouths til the Treaty Nats, to get her up and running! So she'll see the water in Aug!!! And I hope by then to have a carrier for her two!!!Nikki
