I split my superstructure in half. The front just rests on the boat, the back is locked down. I have a minature hose reel like device bolted to the underside of the superstructure. When it sinks, the superstructure lowers the boat down.

Cool. I can't do that to mine. The disadvantage of too much detail. Not to mention my Superstructure is siliconed to the deck. I may be able to use the armored conning tower's Radar as a float. It currently revolves and is removable and made of Swampy's foam. I could probalby attache a spool beneath the main deck run a line through the deck through the superstructure and attach it to the Radar. The radar would float off and float like a tethered buoy. If the ship is in danger of sinknig fast It will be a fast run to the shore.

I got most of the equipment laid out now. Going to remove one of the stern cannons and place that in B or A turret. I need to figure out the best place for the accumulators. I'm thinking up forward between A and B barbettes as this is where the duals will be located and the Main CO2 tank is close by.

I put my foward accumulator past b turret cutting across the ship, I was having clearance issues with the clippards so I have those sneaked in between the gun interupters. My back accumulator is right against the motor. Working on waterchanneling around the motor (my pump is close to the motor) Good thing too as my whole motor lifted right out, mount and all. That would have made for a nasty surprise!

I can pick up the model by the motor mount. It's never coming out unless I destroy it and take it down with a dremel and chisel.

And don't forget a small amount of C4 to make sure it comes out :)

Did you check out the pics on the ship gallery? Should be no problem to mount the shafts Paul. Just do it loosely so that you can make adjustments and line up the shfats with the motor shafts or gear shafts.

I finally managed to get the cannons where I want them and secured them with Tape. The mags on the straights are not hooked up yet. Once I get them angled right. This may involve heating the upfeed tube and rotating the angle so that when reconnected I can mount the Mags in the opposite direction the same way I did Yamato or angle them so that they don't intefere with the batteries or Co2 main tank hoses. I'm lliking this setup. IRCWCC battles has a lot of up close and slugging it out. Usually a Bismarck would dash through and target a weaker ship and get out of there or stay on the fringe and attack unwary wandering targets that get too far from the shore. out in the open thier piecemeal. However I seen what can happen to a large ship that if not careful can be attacked by a pair of smaller ships with equal speed and good firepower and taken down or harassed so much that it's driven away from the nucleus of the battle. I found when I was using Bismarck I was always using the aft guns first usually the dual sterns to soften up targets but that involved a lot driving around to get the ship in a good firing position. The duals were great but they don't hit below the waterline and most times the shots are wasted. Same with the bow gun. I found when I used Yamato the sterns were great for a pschological effect and worked well to get points above the waterline and give me breathing room to escape. However it was the sidemounts that were effective and caused the most lethal damage. I figure I would be more effective and I like to terrorize targets of course with dual sidemounts forward. I can't wait to blast some major holes in my oppoents.

Sounds good, I got my extra gun mounted in the back, my motor mount solid in (I hope) and water channeling and pump sensor adjusted and working well. There was a lot of little things I wanted to fix... works well now, My third rear gun tucked between the other two and fits right into the ship.

Sounds good too Iceman. I secured the cannon in Dora and Caeser Turret. Need to secure the forward sidemounts. I figured out where to mount the GO PRO HERO video camera. It will mount on the armored conning tower at BRIDGE Level or just ahead of the armored conning tower on top of the platform in front of the Admirals bridge. It will give an excellent view of both Anton and Bruno sidemounts and a 170degree field of view of the battle from the bridge's perspective.

In anticipation of heavy damage to the old superstructure I have ordered from Strike the full superstructure package. I also ordered the subdeck and main deck. The Superstructure will be my nice superstructure and the old one will still be used for battles. This should give a nice comparsion. The Subdeck and main deck is for my Tirpitz hull that Ralph Coles made 5 years ago. Wow it's been that long?? Time flys b'ye. That hull I have the complete Superstructure from Greg MacFadden along with the Termite Miain, and Secondary Turrets ,and AAA turrets. So that model has the basics. I hope BC will have the Termite rangefinders and directors for this class soon.

With these cameras the quality and field of view should be really good. I will probalby mount it facing the bow one battle, face it sbd another then face it port. Then I will try it facing the stern and then mount it port and stbd sides and record video from those angles. That way I can get all points of view around the model.
If it sinks well it will record that too.

Well not much time to complete the work what with GF with the flu, her getting a new bed, and relatives popping in with their kids it cut into both of my days. However I did manage to replace 2 of my mounting plates for A and B barbettes, remounted the 2 forard cannon sidemounts in A turret and using a torch made adjustments to the upfeed so that the Mags run beneath the forward hatch . I got the Cannons positioned and lined up perfectly in Anton barbette downangled nicely. I started to drill a mounting hole for one of the B barbette cannons then had to stop. Life intervenes again. That's allright I have tomorrow off I hope to finish that task tomorrow then get on with the installation of the servos.

Almost completed the install of B turret cannons .Once this is done I can secure the forward cannons in their mounts and secure the main turrets. Then it's onto the radio box and mounting the servos and valves and throttle switches.

So what would you recommend for the piece of rod between the universal and the gears?
