Because you can't spell 'Olde Skool' without 'KOOL"...

Was just looking through my boat picture collection and found some classic build pictures from the past. In the case, 1991 to be precise. This is iteration 1 of my old QE.

(Sigh) She was a good ship...

Anyway, here's the pics, enjoy and wonder at the madness!

(And who knows, I may throw in a few more pictures from the archives later)

I remember those boats :) I even used that Duke as a template when I built mine back in 2009.

I actually know and love the old building techniques. I use a mix of old and new as it takes my fancy lol.

Pop it’s and direct drive. Plus the old Hawker batteries. Very old school.

Uh, dimple? More like that giant hunk of 1.5" copper pipe in the bow.

However, if people want a closer look at Stanley's (...) I may have some more pictures somewhere. I just have to find them.

Hehe, it's been a while since I posted something here - Found these old pictures of my HMS Sheffield lurking on the hard drive somewhere. Enjoy!

It's gotten a bit quiet here, so have a picture of Jim Pate's gearing.

I remember that ship. She was a beast for the time...... very reliable if I remember correctly.

Jass built it, and I bought it (mostly) completed. I finished it to taste, and discovered that I wished I'd kept Lief's old Houston instead. She wasn't a terrible ship, but she's not that great either.

Sheffy currently resides in Cali with our friends out there.

Here's a real blast from the past... Martin Schneider's Tirpitz from the 1982 Nats in Amarillo Texas.
