Is that what it is? I thought it was Lutzow until I counted gun barrels! ;) :)

What threw my ID off was the fact it was facing toward me, rather than running away. (Not sure if that's a French joke or an Allied joke. Works either way) :p

Well the French Navy fought the British more than it did the Germans...

Best looking BB? Tie: Hood, Yamato. Scratch that: Yamato. The flared bow combined with the backwards lean of the SS wins out.
Ugliest? Rodney, because of the square SS. I love everything else about that ship though.
    Carrier? Lady Lex
    Cruiser? Emile Bertin
Favorite ship aesthetically: Tegethoff with the Arkansas Monitors a very close second

I think the HMS Resolution is the best looking battleship, Yorktown best looking Carrier, Baltimore best looking Cruiser.

I love the as-built Yamato, clean and strong. But I must disagree most vehemently on armoured cruisers. They are splendid little ships.

    Best looking CV: USS Lexington
    Best looking Cruiser: FN Algérie

    Ugliest BB: HMS Rodney
Ugliest CV: IJN Akagi as she was built.

Planes were the bane of good warship aesthetics. All that ack-ack just cluttered things up.

I don't know, I really like the armed to the teeth look that the battleships had late in the war.

I think the revenge class bbs looked great the way they did. I was that they still ran the seas.

A bit late to the game however:
Best Battleship- USS Tennessee (post modification... it looks like a brawler... like a giant naval pitbull), followed very closely by modified Scharnhorst, then Tirpitz
Worst Battleship- HMS Rodney, it just looks so unbalanced and ungainly
Best Cruiser- Too many beautiful ones maybe Java or Capitani Romani
Worst Cruiser- most American treaty cruisers

Best Looking Capital Ships: HMS Hood in 1920s, HMS Renown post-late 1930s rebuild
Best Looking Cruisers: HMS Enterprise with white 'China Station' hull and buff funnels, Spanish Baleares (sistership of Canarias with 'art-deco' superstructure and fancier raised lip around the trunked funnel).
Worst Looking Capital Ships: Fuso Class in WWII, rebuilt Minas Gervais (Brazilian dreadnought)
Worst Looking Cruiser: Krasni Kavkaz (WWII)

Best Looking Capital Ship: USS Iowa, the pinnacle of kickass.
Best Looking Cruiser: SMS Scharnhorst in White and buff paint scheme. Might have to do one of those.
Worst Looking Capital Ship: Fuso class WWII, gotta agree with Bob P on that one.
Worst Looking Cruiser: Have to think more on this one.

I am not sure if that was the prettiest, but it is the hands down winner of the Jules Verne award.
