Invincible is a battlecruiser, 4 units and gets to use sidemounts. Cuisers are 3 or 3.5 units and DON'T get sidemeounts. Bob Osan
I was looking at some pics of MIkes Invincible that he sent ame and was wondering, The ship and a turrent in the fron the back and then one on either side. Now in fast gun do all the tureents get used or the the fron and back one? I know that it has side mount.
As i have understand it, 1 unit = 1x50 round cannon or 1 pump. So, if you have a 4 unit ship you can have 3x50 round guns and 1 pump. I think that's right.....
OK, so if you have a 4.5 unit ship, does the extra half unit give you an additional 25 round gun? Or can the half unit be allocated to pumps? I've always found the unit system to be a bit confusing, especially when firing quadrants and sidemounts are added to the equation.
" i would like it more if it was a battleship im not a big fan of cruisers but do like the des moines" My battlecruiser tears battleships new ones when battled correctly. I can out run everything I can't out fight, and the ship has the performance to outfight anything that can run me down. You may like battleships better, but I will eat your NC or SoDak for lunch. The biggest problem with my Invincible is its captain; I am not skilled enough to take full advantage of its capabilities. People tend to forget about it being there and follow me through turns. When they do that, I can virtually unload the thing into them. Its called a death-spiral. Never follow someone through a turn unless you enjoy patching. "OK, so if you have a 4.5 unit ship, does the extra half unit give you an additional 25 round gun? Usually a .5 unit is used to create a single 75 round gun. It can also be used as a 1/2 unit pump (obviously of lower capacity then a 1 unit pump). The rules in fast gun are some what nebulous as to whether or not you can actually have a 25 round gun (at least in the IRCWCC). Under the Washington Treaty system, captains have a little more latitude on how they may allocate their units, and as long as they don't violate the appropriate number of barrels in a side quadrant (usually anything more then 1!) no there are 4. The wing turrets are the ones on the side. I have a stern gun in one of those turrets. Mike D
