I have started making superstructure templates for the French pre-dreads.
It looks like some of the stuff is the same for the Dantons, and the Liberte class.
And I am guessing that these parts might also work on some of the other Frenchies as well.
I will post some photos later this week.

The Potemkin is sheeted and it will see sea trials this weekend. It might even battle!

I'm very pleased with how the deckhouse turned out, although I'm going to have to reprint it since it lifted a little.

Are you going to be selling those bits as well?

I was not planning to sell the parts, but I will make the files available if you have access to a 3D printer. I could do a limited number of parts, but my printer is not good for production.
I made more progress on the cosmetic stuff. Turrets are way oversized and will have to be redone. I redid the observation deck with a thinner 0.05" thick splinter shield and it looks much better. The smoke stacks are 4 pieces, the bottom cylinder, top cylinder, and two hoods. I printed the cylinders as a single wall spiral vase, so they were very quick to print. A BB will blow through them, so I'll reprint them when I have the time.

It did get on the water today. I lost a prop shaft early in the testing, so I was unable to play with it much.

One trick for splinter shields is to make them like 1/4" thick at the base, then thinning to whatever you like at the top edge, it gives the illusion of scale thickness from 5-10 feet away.
And J, if you want some, let me know. The least I can do for you is print a few parts, since you've asked me to be caretaker for those plans for you :)

Not yet. I have one of Mark's Potemkin kits but it is still in the box. I am going to finish Warrior and Commonwealth before I start on it.

I went slightly mad with the printer last week and added plenty of pretty bits to be shot away. My favorite is the steam launch.

As promised, here's the files for those that would like to print their own parts.
Details on the different parts can be found here.

The secondaries are printed in one piece with support - only the overhang in the back needs it. The main turrets I print in 3 pieces - the top, the main body, and the barbet, so no support is necessary. The top is glued on to the main body and the turret is a friction fit over barbet.

What layer height did you use on them?
