Flyers are great, but the number one requirement is access to a pond to battle. If not, convincing someone to spend hundreds of dollars building and hundreds of dollars traveling to a site is daunting. Better to meet captains that you will be battling with and what they are using. That way if something craps out, you might be able to borrow a spare to finish out the weekend (if you do poppets and everyone else has firing boards you would be out of luck). Best advertisement is a working boat that you can service. Then make a loaner boat to get someone hooked. THEN you have to talk them out of an 8 unit or something so unique that they will never finish or battle.
Couldn't say it any better. But as for me, I'll get back with you as soon as I finish my Väinämöinen, because ... reasons.
Posted old version of this on SAS email, got one really good comment. Downside is my boat is not ready and it's too cold here to pass this out. Lol. I will save the badge components for future use.
The battleship on top was adapted from ww2 propaganda and I merged it with a viking ship bow. Went and looked up the Nats location on google maps, turns out there is a nearby church. So I added the cross. Gott mit uns. The badge is not perfect.
Thanks to Beaver & Bill Harvard for use of their ships photo's. I really prefer to use real ships in the art.
You gave permission for use of the image, you can retract that and I will delete and destroy immediately. Just say the word.
