Finally! The motors arrived. If they don't fit the gear box I will use them for direct drive. They are 7.2 v 365 motors.

I hear you on the Xmas stuff. Is there a temperature gradient for Resining. I may be able to do it at my sister's place in her basement.

Room Temperature works better for getting the resin to cure faster. Use heat lamps if you have to.

Captains.. well I hope to get started on PE tomorrow. Plans went in the toilet to start it last weekend. These long gravehour shifts are wreaking havoc with my sleep and time during the day.

Good news I was able to pick up a large sheet of Sintra 4 X 8 sheet 1/8in thick. The reason I am going with 1/8 in sheet is cost. It cost me over 40.00 for that sheet. A 1/4 sheet would have cost me nearly 90.00. Secondly the 1/8 sheet is more flexible and will be easier to conform to the hull shape and easier to cut. I will be making a subdeck out of Sintra and then lay on it the main deck. This will give me a better deck seal along the hull length and I won't need screws.

The Pe new deck will be easier to make with this material. First though the motor mounts need to be built. Drive system will be the first thing to work on tomorrow.

Just a footnote: I spoke to Chris and we will both be at Can-nats this year. Bismarck will be back in my hands but I wil fly to Newbrunswick, meet up with Chris and both of us will drive to Halifax with our ships on his trailer. Were taking with us Musashi, Veneto and Bismarck. Yamato and Tennessee will be already in Halifax by that time. The Japanese Giants along with the Italian sisters Roma and Veneto and the first Bismarck coming out of a 6 year retirement will be at Can-nats.

It's going to be a busy year but a glorious event.

Hmmm a lot of boats to shoot at this year. 2008 could be a target rich environment for CANNATS.

I don't know how target rich it will be but I will do what I can.
Strasburg is going in the pool on Sun. for another run to test the new motors and to check the pump, we'll see how it goes
