There’s a lot of great stuff on this forum, but I will admit I probably learned the most from Steve’s in-depth posts. I always looked forward to what technological envelope he was pushing next. Very sorry to see him go.

uh... did I miss something? is this a "we can still pester him about getting guns" thing, or a "something happened and he's done with the hobby" thing?

So, absent a verification from Steve , I believe you can bother him about guns,
"I'd be open to building a new set of Stynger cannons for a good price." (from another post), however I believe he is done with us for the time being at minimum. Only he can tell you what made the decision for him, I personally hope to see him again because I have thoroughly enjoyed his posts, boasts and banter on this forum. I will miss his input on many topics.:(

Well in good news, while Steve has been deleting pictures, Photobucket has restored all the images hosted from their platform, just with a watermark. So now all the older build threads have the pictures that make them so educational. Enjoy them once again everyone!

Hello all. Looks like I am a bit late to this party. I have read this thread at least 5 times now and what an impressive build. I will be constructing an Atlanta class cruiser here in the next few months. This thread has been amazing information. I do not know Steve but reading this thread and his "So you want to run 24V" are really amazing. I am sad to read that he is not around anymore. As a newbie starting out this information is priceless in details. Just the fact that I know he has tried a million things to get to the point he has is hard to come by in any hobby. So much knowledge. I hope one day I can meet this man and thank him. For everyone else I hope I can ask questions as I am sure I will have more then a few.

    Hey!

Go chat with @kgaigalas and the rest of the GLAS gang. I'm pretty sure there are even a few guys in your local area. You're in a good geographic spot for getting in-person build advice

Dusting off an old thread. Toying with the idea of battling again. Pulled the Atlanta off the shelf and decided to re-gun her. She's getting a quad bow setup. Dug out the old parts bin and found enough material to do four new cannons. Started machining the pieces for the lightweight cannons.

Didn't want to put a dent into the drill bit budget so I'm giving brass pistons a go with these cannons. Much easier to deal with over the SS.

You should try the plastic 3/16 PEX pipe plugs. Work just fine and even easier to manipulate than brass or SS.

Pretty sure they're made by a company called John Guest.

I get them on McMaster, you can get them on ebay and such too: John Guest Plug 3/16 Inch Stem 10 Pack | eBay
