Greg, I'll take a Duke! Ever since Tyler battled one at a fast gun nats, it has been on my short list. Start a new build thread
Just curious how this ship is coming along? Wouldn't mind rocking one of these at a battle or two this year (if there is even a remote possibility of getting one)....
There has not been any progress on it. I am waiting on some parts from stephen but he has been understandably busy. It would not take me too long to get the laser cutter plans set up for the other cutter but I won't have time to check for bugs in the kit this year. No progress on the Duca. I've been trying to build my mackensen for this summer (not looking good right now)
Like Chase, I am still interested in the Provence. I won't catch up to Tugboat's number of unfinished projects in this lifetime if I don't start adding some more.
And Stephen's been in jury duty all day today, so even more fun! Greg, know of any good nannies up this way looking for one or two days a week? Productivity for both of us is a tad bit down as of late.
That's understandable. I'd be happy to help write build instructions for others to follow if that would help any...
What I need to do is note which part goes where on the various views of the drawing. It doesn't really need an exploded view/instructions, just some extra views. To get them cut immediately would require about 2-3 hours of reworking the dxf for the other cutter. the big thing is that I can't check for bugs without parts
Remaining list of work: -design motor mount bracket for new style traxxas boxes -minor tweaks of parts The little marks near casemates are cutout indicators for rulesets that require penetrable area between casemates need to work out how complete the kit will be with stephen. it is built around an assumption of threaded inserts, traxxas gearboxes, and a chain drive / pulley drive along with a servocity aluminum servo mount. bulges on certain parts are there to make them less fragile during installation. they are sanded flush once the whole thing is glued together. Images in build order below. only slightly tricky part is getting the motor mounts in. No glue has been used, the entire kit frameup takes ~1 hour if working slow and noting things
