Yes, but as I am from the South, shall I bring moon-pies and pelt him with them? It's a sign of respect in the south, you know, same as putting holes in his ship with your fingers prior to battle. Respect, nothing but respect.
Work continues on with wiring clean up. I want the inside of the boat to look great, but still be easy to trouble shoot/repair at pond side. So I used the top screw of the blast shield to mount a plastic wire holder. Wire is still inside the boat, the blast shield is lexan and should protect (time will tell). Bottles are in and do not interfere with anything.
Large wire loom that feeds the Kips, everything comes out with a few screws. In this shot you can see the haymaker magazine tube, easy to refill.
Overall shot of the stern, still looks clean to me. Bow shot, the WTC has extra wire that will eventually be shortened after her first battle next weekend. After the battle and any subsequent changes, will work on interior colors and graphics. I will finally try my hand at powder coating. Does anyone know if I can remove the head of the C02 bottle and reinstall (safely), or am I better off taking it to a paintball store to remove and reinstall? Will be powder coating the bottles, that is why I need to remove them (oven is over 400 degrees)
Don't mess with the bottles or the valves, if you do you might have to have them re-certified, and hydro tested.
Ok, I will try something new, vinyl wrapping of the tanks. Did some reading and ordered the following colors to test. Blue carbon fiber High gloss black Edge sealer This will give me a look and not worry about affecting the tank or certification (can always be removed).
Now I that looks really nice but I have to question why you would want to impede the heat transfer with a additional coating?
I guess I don't understand, can you elaborate? My goal with this build is to make the inside of the ship as nice as possible, and having flat black tanks just doesn't cut it. Powder coating is out (need to remove neck and then will have to be re-tested), now *I guess* if I wrap the tank it will act as insulation and cause the guns to suck. Sooo, maybe just paint the tanks?
It's not a big deal to take them to a paintball shop (if you have one nearby) and have them remove the valve for you and reinstall and test it afterwards (if necessary) for you.
Are you fighting this ship or is it just going to sit on the shelf? The CO2 system on your ship does have the potential to do very serious harm if misused. Tank certification and the adherence to normal high pressure protocols is very important and is one of the reasons you have a CD at events. Putting it bluntly, if you show up to a event with a modified or altered CO2 system on the high pressure side you can expect one of the most stringent inspections possible, and your modified tank will fail a visual inspection.
Define modified? Painted? Covered? I am VERY transparent about my build, this is why I am on this site and share what I am doing. Please tell me now, if I take a rattle can of paint to a tank that I will fail a visual inspection.
The numbers on the tank have to be visible and not modified. If you just spray the tanks and make them uniform that is probably OK, but you aren't making it work any better.
