I remember reading her story when I was a kid. I had a fascination with good war stories. I read every book in the Dallas public library system on anything military vehicle (subs, planes, tanks, ships, etc...) between the ages of 6 and 11. I went twice a week and brought back a foot tall stack of books every time. My Mom was a literature and journalism major, I was doomed to it
She was a very brave and very resourceful lady, who wouldn't really accept her well earned status as a heroine, both in Australia, and especially in France. The nazis hunted her all over France, but never caught her.
