Looking to add firing buttons to my Futaba radio. What are some quality proven buttons?

    4 x $7.60 = $30.40
    13 x $2.44 = 31.72
I don't need a group buy to make that decision. Firing buttons are something I have wanted to do for a long time.

I've found some of the really cheap "C&K" switches out there aren't the same quality as the more expensive ones with the same part number when compared side by side. Probably not an issue for our use and even the lesser quality ones are still way better than the shite buttons that radio shack sells.

Depending on the radio. On most the stick gimbal is a module.. disconnect a connector or two, and it just "unplugs". (Maybe held in by screws, or snaps). Make a template the same diameter, cut out of wood or metal, mount buttons to suit, wire in & mount. Very broad strokes here, but hopefully this helps with the general concept. I think there's a "how to" buried somewhere in this forum....

I saved instructions written by Brian Elaissen for adding buttons to an Airtrinics Transmitter. I think that it was linked to MWC. I think that I have read that the process is the same for most/all radios???
I have it saved as a word document. PM me and I will send you a copy.

Adding buttons in Brian's article is overkill for the modern programmable radios. It's a good guide but you don't need all the resistors now. Most radios just need one in line with the common wire.
Lou it would take way to long to type, but I can talk you through it if you like. Give me a call one night.

Thanks Bob, will do. We have a new local captain that will do the electrical work, I know he has some questions.
    Radio in question is:
    10CHG 2.4GHz Systems

I drew up the basic wiring diagram for button conversions for reference. I have full pictures of each step that I will post in another thread in the near future.

Here is a picture that shows the end product from inside the radio. My buttons are side by side, but it can also be arranged as a traditional diamond pattern
