As well as working on British battlewagons, I've been steadily making progress on a little Italian cruiser, the Luigi Cadorna. She's just 2 units, but I really like the looks of the ship. I've also never seen one battled, so that's a bonus. Being neutral means it is easier to team adjust too... Center section where all the magic happens. Small BC pump, Strike drive board, 4.5 AH NiMH pack, viper ESC, and the receiver all live here. The magazines can be filled easily. I kept them both full length for ease but I will most assuredly only fill one full and one half for battle. She's not a big ship. ~8lbs and 46" long
Got the pretty stuff today and trimmed up the forward deck. Hooray weight savings! Unfortunately the plans are in Russian. Well not unfortunately, just I don't read Russian. Well not sober anyway...
Does anyone know or have seen a 1/144 or close model of the Ro. 43 or Cant Z.25? F-toys makes a lot of oddball planes, but haven't found any Italians from them.
More work on the Cadorna. Hull repair and resin, sealing up the step deck gap, and some paint! Gotta love those barber pole recognition stripes.
Italians had to add the stripes because of German stuka pilots had really bad naval recognition skills, but yes they do look cool. Fun to have liberty every night because there wasn't enough quarters for the whole crew.
Little bit more work on the little Italian. Finished up the electrical (not that there is very much to begin with!) and got the main deck painted. Looking to be a very elegant ship. Next up will be sheeting and painting and then some trials.
Finally some updates! Got sheeted and painted. That's a lot of light gray... 7.3 lbs out of max 8.15 so pretty close, but it is a small ship...
Beauty Shot! Need to add some ballast to the keel but overall she is ready for service. Very pretty little ship but a little tippy. Pump works great though!
