Please insure that your membership fee is paid at least one week in advance so that the MWC secretary can confirm receipt of your membership application. http://mwci.org/membership.shtml First time members receive a 50% discount if they join after July 1st. That reduces the fee to $30

There is a one-time battler's fee for those grizzled but doubtful veterans.

    Achtung Kaptians!

SCRAP-Feindseligkeiten beginnen Prado Lake 26. Juli 2008 am 08:00, das Stunden bis Waffenstillstand an den 12:00stunden. Feindseligkeiten nehmen 16. August 2008 bei den 08:00stunden und bei jedem dritten Samstag von da an wieder auf.

Erreichen Sie Ihre Schiffe bereit.

OMG Jacky Fisher has arrived :)

I'd wondered if we would see some of the more 'colorful' denizens of the MWC show up :)

For those who aren't members, the one-time fee lets you take part in the battle without paying for a full membership. I think it's like $15 (not sure on that, but it's not far from that).

It doesn't do the Grand Fleet any good to show up for a battle and not have the Hocheseeflotte there to battle, so of course the call to arms is in both English And German. Now, if the forum were set up to display japanese characters, we could try to call up the Nihon Kaigun as well.

I thought that was Ty. A number of captains on the MWC list thought "Jackie" was a woman.
After meeting him at NATS (a number of times) we still are left wondering! I kid, I kid!! [:)]
Ty still owes me a few adult beverages from NATS 2005. Of course it would help if I go again...

Hey Ty, I'm trying to get my ship down to Las Vegas in time to go to the Aug SCRAP Battle. Hopefully I can swing something and bounce across the Mojave since I'm more in the area of SoCal than I usually am. ;) Banzai!

That's be great Outbreak. We'd love to have you. If you can't get your boat together, I might be able to dust off Inflexible. Just let me know well enough in advance. She has no hull paint or waterline and her rudder servo might have been requisitioned.

As for you Phantom, I have not forgotten your Blue Moons.

    QUOTE BY Brian Eliassen
Here is the list of battlers in attendance:
    Brian Eliassen (didn't battle)
    Ty Supancic (Warspite)
    Todd Olson (didn't battle)
    Brandon Smith (Iboat)
    Tanner Thrall (VdT)
    Steve Thrall (Konig)

No sinks. It was Ty and Brandon versus the Thrall's. It was
actually quite close in points: Allied: 1075 to Axis: 625 with no
sinks. We did three sorties. The cannons in Todd's Dungflinger were
not working and my radio box was flaky so I elected to keep the SoDak
off the water and just do CD duties.

The local management was *VERY* happy to have us there. They were
telling the fishermen when they entered the facility to stay out of
our battle area. Shade trees. Nearby bathrooms. Very few people
walking around. Flat lakeside launch area. Solid clay bottom. They
were so impressed with our setup that we committed to the first
Saturday through January so the next battle will be on the 6th!
That'll give me enough time to work out the SoDak issues...hopefully.

    Brian

Outbreak made a great Allied captain. Hopefully he'll reprise the roll at the September battle.

Sadly, my old I-boat got pounded at its last outing. The fiberglass in the stern area is in very sad shape. I put her on a shelf until I feel up to making repairs. On the plus side, one of the evil evil men who did the damage is giving me his old KGV hull to repair and use :) Hopefully at NATS 09, depending on location. My Australia for cruisering, KGV for cutting big 4-BB wide holes in people. When I've bought Bob P's Vanguard mold, Brian is going to build a new and improved Vanguard. The British fleet will be rocking!

(And now that I have a reliable radio, it's time to get it on)

My PE loves KG5's and POW's, eats them for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I will be happy to allow the PE the opportunity to try :) Without a worthy opponent bent on destruction, there's no point in getting on the water =)
