Well massive failure. esc i picked up for $20 is a failure... have to put it in neutral twice to get it to go to reverse. so i'm taking the ESC from my Kongo and putting it in the mostly done Shimakaze. proboat 40 amp sealed unit just have to replace the futaba ends with the traxxas ones for the battery i have. tore out the poppit and moved it and i have a very large deadspace that if i find the right pump i can fit it.... and a space for servo/relay.
well tug when i was buying an esc i had to get stuff localy or i wasn't certain i could get it. had no clue what state i was going to be in any given week Dec-this monday...
Was a few years back for me I replaced it with one of those proboats which i incidentally also dont like, but it serves well enough in a convoy.
50% reverse and ive had troubles with their startup sequence in the ship i'm using it in -they seem to be very picky about the neutral position.
if i get back to what i was working on this week i should have the skin on by thursday. just need to replace the rudder when the max allowed scale one shows up.
We had the proboat 40 I think in a couple of ships and didn't like them either. They are good for regular RC but the demands of Combat are too much for them. BTW I said I used the 75 amp that is incorrect I use the 40 amp. Works great.
I have 2 Mtronics, and they wouldn't work for me..... I don't remember why.... I need to hook one back up and see what the issue was. I do remember I had looked into it on the internet at the time, and others had the same issue..... Kind of a bummer since I have two of them, and between the two there are probably 30 seconds worth of run time on them....
well after i broke my only waterproofed servo ( fell out of box and got stomped on) i just ordered some scotchcote and will probably need to go find another hightorque mini servo to replace the not so high torque on on the rudder arm now.
well replaced the rudder with max allowed size and..... it has no throw on the servo arm now so i'm going to have to replace the setup and it's looking like chain driven is my only option. i can use the nice standard plastic gears without moving anything else in the boat i just may have to cut a section of the keel stringer out and reinforce it on the sides to get the hight i need. also need more gears as i have to choose if i get the shima or the kongo done 100%(maybe minus some SS) for first battle in march.
