My 2 sla batteries have died for my VU class battleship. I am looking for a reasonably cost alernative to the SLA batteries. Currently i am using 6v SLA batteries. I would like to reduce the weight as I am close to max weight for the ship. Also the sla is used to power the pump as well.

Hobby King lipo zippy packs 2 cell, 5000mah. Or better not too spendy.
But you need a B6 charger to do the charging, about 30 bucks.

Also, 6 cell NiMH from cheapbatterypacks.com work well - used them in both of our VU's.

Cheapbatterypacks.com is throwing fits with my UTM firewall due to browser exploits. May want to avoid the site.

I was using two 6v 7ah packs. Lying flat they fit nicely side by side.
