He did admit he's Canadian, descended from a former French colony. He may be exhibiting vestigial signs of his lineage. We'll have to keep a close eye on him until he proves his loyalty to the Axis cause by sinking an allied pig.

two things, 1) I am also Italian, which is axis, so i have that support
and 2) I will be driving a cruiser so it might be a while before i sink one.
Not that i wont, but it might be a while.

You're Italian like me? It's all good, then. Say these things sooner!

Nothing runs thicker than blood, but nothing runs faster than a Frenchman faced with a British ship. Or a German, or an Italian... In fact, as I remember it, the Italians ran almost as fast as the French! Fast ships, very good at running away!

See, that's what we Brits have slow ships for -- stay and fight! Death or glory, stiff upper lip!

Agree, that's we Americans like the Brits. Same theory. Sure, our battlefleet may be only 21 knots, but we can go any bloody where we want at 21 knots.

nothing like 9 16 inch guns in the morning. Those ships were like a nice hot cup of shut the hell up.
Now, that is the patriot in me, not grounds for calling me un-axis.

The world war 1 South Dakota class which was scuppered by the Washington Treaty would have carried 12 16" 50 cal guns. I'd like to see one of those set up for big gun, I'd think it would be uhhh nasty.

the were pretty large though, and not very fast by WW@ standards, i think they would be targets.

I agree, a WW1 Sodak would be a very interesting and nasty ship. As for a big gun one, there are pictures of a couple of them on the Australian battlegroup website.

Whoa now, put down the pipe. WW1 German ships are hideous! And how can you knock cage masts, the single coolest looking implement ever devised for a warship?

WW1 american dreadnoughts were some of the most beautiful ships ever built! I just adore the cage mast look, which was the major reason I picked USS Utah for my first warship. A US dreadnought is better than a German one anyday.

All WWI ships are ugly and the cage mast is just fugly, and was it not removed when your ships were modernized.

I have to admit that cage masts are better-looking than modern frigates and destroyers, but not by much. There are some nice looking WW1 ships, like Derfflinger. Also the Warspite. I would have had a love affair with the Warspite in my club after the builder upgraded the guns (they had such a beautiful *crack* sound to complement her fine lines, smooth skin, and pretty details), but I only had an unworthy unarmed transport. I was fortunate enough to operate her in a gunnery and maneuvering event, and it was almost as good as my first sink. I am looking forward to dancing with her much more this year, now that I will have a ship that is a worthy match for her.
