Father Time must not be very old, if he's only as old as when the Allies first started to say "smack!" to the Axis. I have yet to see them succeed in smacking the Axis on the pond.

Just to inject some physics into this. An Axis Battleship and a french Battleship are sitting over the AMrianas Trench. Both facing superior Allied Battleships. The question is which one sinks to the bottom first? The Answer is Axis. the French surrender.

We never "owned" France, we merely engineered a change of government to one that was less likely to interfere with our plans for Russia. And it figures that it would take multiple "superior" Allied battleships to sink one Axis ship after the French boat surrenders. Still, I'd give at least even odds that one or more of the Allied battleships also sinks despite the preponderance of firepower on the Allied side.

He didn't say multiple, he said superior. As it's an allied ship, superiority is a given.

As far as multiples, what about Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, the mighty twins running as fast as they could from a poor, worn out WW1 battlecruiser which was all by it's little lonesome. Axis captains are surely brave when faced with transports but give them something which can shoot back and it's all about a clean pair of heels.

Perhaps that's the reason why transports are recommended for rookies...rookies are attracted to the Allied fleet, so the cowardly axis steers them to their preferred prey...unarmed transports. The Axis certainly wouldnt want to run into allied captains that can shoot back!

Gascan is right, we didn't own France, too many people not knowing which way to go!!

Hawk, it's not our fault we had a crazy, tunnel visioned, megalomaniac who believed all of his own propaganda and wouldn't listen to his Admirals!!! Ordering warships to do nothing but sink transports is dishonourable o_O. Look at Admiral Lütjens, he didn't want to fire Bismarck's guns at warships, he followed orders. If it wasn't for Captain Lindemann, the Allies may have won that one with their " superior" battleships. And if the Allied ships are so superior, how come it took soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many of them to sink a single Axis ship, and most were sunk due to air power not sea power!!!!!!!!:p:p:p

Tirpitz captains = tree huggers :woot::whistling:. It seems to me that ecven when the Axis are in a superior position the decide to scuttle themselves. Hmmm Graf Spee anyone.

He said both were facing superior Allied battleships. Note that "battleships" is plural, and that both the Frenchie and the Axis battleship are facing a plurality of battleships. Thus it can logically be assumed that the Axis ship had to face a minimum of four "superior" Allied battleships once the Frenchie hoisted the white ensign.

J, you hit the hammer on the head.
