LOL German superiority. Let me quote General Adolf Galland about the superiority of all things German when asked what his pilots needed to win the Battle of Britain:

"I should like an outfit of Spitfires for my squadron."

I remember this, yes it was a compliment for sure, but this occurred after the Luftwaffe was ordered to bomb London, as opposed to airfields, see once again MADMAN in charge. That was in Sept 1940 I believe, but by the end of that year the 109F showed up. A quote from Galland's story; " Galland's careful husbanding of his resources and astute tactical awareness meant JG 26 kept their losses to a minimum while inflicting maximum damage on the RAF's tactical fighters through 1941. This became even more evident with the arrival of the potent Focke-Wulf Fw 190A to units in late 1941 - early 1942, which completely outclassed the current Spitfire Mark Vb in service with the RAF."
It's not that the RAF planes were not good, just not AS good as the German!!

    The equation is simple...[BF 109>Hurricane] + [FW 190>Spitfire] =ALLIES run like girls!

    NEXT!!

True Jay and don't forget the ME 262 which was better than any allied fighter. Again a german victory.... better tanks better planes and better ships.

Rubbish. The Bismark was junk with a WW1 armor scheme, unreliable shells and poorly protected guns. Armored deck was too low in the ship. Firecontrol was easily knocked out. Guns were designed for a short range fight (belt penetration). Most overrated battleship design ever. Most of the same can also be applied to the Sharnhorst class, which were also undergunned. All of the German trash short of the PBs had unreliable engines. ALL of the Allied treaty battleships were better then the Bistrash class. Hipper got trashed by a light cruiser, Graf Spee got trashed by one of the worst heavy cruisers ever build (Exeter)

The 262 was not better then the Allied P-80 which was coming on line at the end of the war. P-51's retained a positive kill/loss ratio over the 262 regardless (doh!). Soviet T-34s were superior to everything the Germans had except the king tiger. Too bad the king tiger's engines were unreliable. I'd take the t-34 any day. US M-1's > then KaR-98, M-1911's > walther P-38's, etc etc.

The only thing that the Germans had better of then the Allies was French girls, and that was only til 1944 when we got em back.

Bismarcks guns were good enough to take out the pride of the British navy....Who built the first true assault rifle germany.... the germans best tank was not the tiger but the panther which had a 8 to 1 kill ratio vs the t34 and a 12 to 1 vs the sherman. H&K makes some of the best weapons today as does sig sauer both german companies. wasn't graf spee out numbered 3 to 1 and she kncked the exeter out of action and heavily damaged 2 other cruisers. The one thing the allies never did was to take a german ship one on one or with equal numbers because they were so affraid of what might happen..... they would loose. The p-80 did not even see action during the war and was grossly under powered. The mauser is a much better rifle than the M-1 and I have fired both. The KAR 98 was a simple weapon that was used because the russians did not have anything better. While the 1911 is a good pistol it lacks the ammo capacity that would make it a great side arm, of all the side arms used in ww2 I would use the british and canadian browning high power, while only being a 9mm cartridge, it also has a 13 round magazine almost double what every other country was using.

I have to disagree. The Bismarck was enough of a threat that the RN deployed as many ships as they possibly could to hunt her down. Just in BBs and BCAs was King George V, Prince of Wales, Ramillies, Revenge, Rodney, Repulse, Hood and Renown were involved in someway or another, as well as 2 carriers, 2CAs, 10 CLs and a load of DDs. When he was sunk, of the almost 2900 shells fired over 700 were from BBs (16 and 14 inch) and only 2 penetrated the armour of the hull. As for fire control and firepower, we all know what happened to Hood and POW. Scharnhorst proved himself in battle as well. The Hipper was damaged, not trashed and gave better than he got, and the Graf Spee wasn't trashed at all, just out smarted and bluffed big time. Exeter was trashed!

While I agree that the 262 wasn't better, just faster than Allied fighters (sorry Chris), the tank issue is disputable. The Panther was the equal of the T-34 (they are together thought of as the best MEDIUM tank of the war. The Tiger was superior in every way except speed; the T34 was faster (good for retreating!!)
As far as rifles go, I don't pretend to have any idea about them, so I won't comment on them.

Again, back to the spirit of this thread... sticks tongue out and produces raspberry towards the ALLIES. ;)

You're a pilot? Flying is the only way an Axis captain would find themselves on top of an Allied ship.

Its ok Greg, we both know that even though the Italians are like the Axis version if the French, you are held in higher regard then the British.
