Meh, some of my ancestors were American, but I'm sure a lot of people can say that. I prefer to think about my Northern European ancestors anyhow -- it's where pretty much all of my ancestors are from. Supposedly it's a good place these days. I haven't been there long enough to really know for sure.

Whatever ancestry I may have, on the pond I'm pure Brit. Or Scot. Either way, it's frightening to the lesser navies to see a good British ship on the water.

Good British ship? Isn't that an oxymoron? I've been playing SES's game Jutland, and they take pride in their historical accuracy for ships, damage control, gunnery, armor penetration, everything. In a one-on-one, the British ship usually loses.

Some british ships were well made... the QE's, KGV, Vanguard and some of their light crusiers.

I'll admit the QEs were fast: it helps when they need to run away from Seiner Majestät Hochseeflotte.

I think that's a bit far fetched considering the high seas fleet is best remembered for 3 turns AWAY from the British battleline.

At best Jutland was a draw, it had no clear winner.

Thats what they want to you to think, but it was, if anything, a Pyrrhic Victory for the Germans.

It wasnt Pyrric, because the Germans took fairly light losses. It was however a British strategic victory, even if a tactical defeat. Never again after Jutland did the Germans contest control of the North Sea.
