What would I charge it as if it isn't listed?

On my multi charger the SLA is listed as lead or Pb (That's the periotic table symbol for lead right?).
The 30 amp hours I put in the ship was because I had the batteries already and had weight and room for them. I was planning of just running 20 amps but found I could fit in 30amp. You can make 20 amp work for a two sortie battle. Now if you head out for a 3rd sortie and you've been running around or pumping hard for a while becarful.
Back in the SLA days, like 07, I ran 24 amps in the Warspite this worked fine.

Crazy. I ran one 12AH for the whole battle. That said, I only had a size 400 pump motor, and it was pre-stinger,i.e. a regular motor, so I probably wasn't drawing much current.

Ok, I can charge those batteries. Are SLA batts stable? If these things are any where near Duralites there's not getting close to my boat. I trust NiMh and Li series batteries but I'll never use a Duralite in my hobby stuff again.

SLA are stable. When I was talking about weight, I'm suggesting you want to be at or just above scale weight (18ish pounds). Having a heavy battery helps with that so you dont have to put in a bunch of lead weight to get to an optimal weight. If you're going to add weight, might as well be in the form of power right?

Tug, the I boat is smaller/lighter than the moltke and 400 motors should draw less power. I think you can get away with a 12, but why try when you can carry so much more power. :)

I ran 24Ah in my Fuso through 2 nats with a stinger pump, never had an issue with power. Sank a lot...but not because of a lack of power ;)

    Yikes! $60 for old tech?! It's also 9 lbs?! That's heavy. =/
I'll have to weigh my boat again to make sure I don't go over scale weight. That thing is huge, it measures ab/ the same size as my radio box, will the SLA fit in here?

You can also chainl SLA batteries. My Tennessee is running 2 6v 12AMH SLA batteries.

Shamoo, 2 of the 12AH 6V batteries cost $50 including shipping. That's hardly a rip-off, and they are still good batteries. If you want to shell out the cash, some LiFePO4 batteries are great. The ones I bought for a battleship cost $140 for shipping, and I got four 10mm thick 6"x9" 20AH 3.3V cells for that price. So two 20AH 6.6V batteries. Oh, yeah, they weigh next to nothing. Maybe 3 pounds tops.

But you can abuse the heck out of Pb-acid batteries and they'll be fine with minimal care. Fancier batteries require more attention. Not a big deal if you are good at that, but if you're not...

The ship's profile has been updated with the pics Ed sent me. They're just to draw attention, if you want to see more, go back to its profile and go to where it says more photos, you'll be linked to my photo-bucket account.

Another update: this morning I scrapped my air bladder idea ( too many leaks.) I do NOT recommend trying this unless you have lots of time on your hands, space in your ship, patience, and a regular shaped superstructure( square, rectangle, triangle, nothing with a lot of corners, and never attempt a curve.) I DO recommend the foam super structure idea, I will try that once I get the courage lol. Also, if you try the air bladder idea make sure you don't use a very powerful adhesive ( I used Elmers Glue-All, it has a bull on it and it's grey, but it ripped off my paint)What kind of foam should I use for the foam structure idea? I'll start it pretty soon once I know what to use.
