Here are some pics of Jeff's Sharny being built at Spudwerks....

This is a very nice BC kit!

Prepping for the massive stringer invasion....

This ship has way too many dam stringers....

    One side done....

    Now for side two

    The 1/4" decking going in....

I used 1/4" ply for the deck and routed out a 1/8" rabbit for the deck lids to sit into....
    Nice and seamless....

Guns in place... the VU in the background

I stiffened the deck lids to prevent warping later on...

Time to practice you "one hand underarm launching sequence" for that tiny boat. Looking good so far!

Hmm....if I'm going to use the "Football launch technique (Patent Pending)", I'll have to double and triple-check my mounting brackets. OTOH, she's not so tiny...39.5x5.9 inches!

Not sure that you want those decks that thick... it adds a lot of weight topside and Scharnies are sensitive to that.

You also could've claimed a stringer between the forward casement deck and the center casement, and likewise between the aft casement deck and center casement. The stringer way down deep I never claimed since it was such an insignificant feature that it didn't impede sheeting. Same thing with the one under the stern sticky-outy casements. Can you catch it with a fingernail? Yes. Does it impede sheeting? Not at all. Reasonable people might disagree, but Scharnie's pretty bulletproof as it is.
