Ok.... here is the hull with the FG deck laying in place. I had to of course clean up the FG in the case mates some deck is untouched fresh from the mold and fitment is great
Ok deck is installed Used polyester resin with milled fibers and baby powder to make a smooth paste. The panel edges are just rough cut i will clean them up later once water channel and shafts are in
three cheers The number of the cheers shall be three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt cheer and the number of the cheering shall be three. Four shalt thou not cheer, neither cheer thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.
The stern on this ship is very shallow and cramped! It is going to be fun in the 2I rudder configuration. I plan to cut away some of the keel to make room for the 50% extra on a shilling style rudder.
Great to see someone making the Seydlitz hull Charley. I don't know why the Tuttles didn't market Seydlitz hulls from the mold Ralph Coles made for them about 10 years ago.
Thanks Bob, It turned out very nice! many guys got to see it at the GA battle. Now that I am back to battling again. I have plans for many other ships. Currently I have a plug of the Indefatigable that BC bought back around 2012 that was never finished. Guys i will update this build with more details soon. I had to work on the Vanguard to prepare for the GA battle so it was put on hold.
Balsa water channeling added framed with 1/2" stick with 1/4" cap plate. She is being fiber glassed so minor imperfections is no problem. I will post pics tonight after glass dries. The added fiberglass extends up the sides of the hull adding another layer thickness for beefier ribs
