My 10 yr old has decided he wants to build ship. Of course I had to get him pointed in the correct direction...

I have a old VU hull laying up in the loft that was one of my first pulls from a mold back when I was learning how to make molds with glass.

She is rough but workable so I gave the hull to Joshua and said happy building.. This could be a great thing.. or a total disaster, only one way to find out! So here we go, my son's first building project, the SMS Viribus Unitis.

It will be a good ship for a rookie, just stick all three guns in her stern and teach him to stern fight first.

suggest a death "Y" in the stern and either a side mount or bow gun forward.

Had Triple bow guns on mine. Did fine in smaller battles, but not as well in large battles when it got locked in.

Spuds said it will run triple sterns in a “twist and gun” fashion

At his age I know I was... give him a few more years and he might get back into it.

There are like four unfinished VU threads around... Is this like “ oh the superstructure , so nice, no time for pictures “ or more like “argh, the superstructure , I’m ashamed to put it online “??

There are a lot of unfinished builds in general. Not a problem specific to the VU. Some are finished ships, people just went from taking their time building to 'oh, events in a week, RUSH', others are just unfinished ships (or sold to someone else who may have finished them but didnt update here)
