Trying to get this done before end of summer. My little workspace gets messy and stays messy.
Start of build or at least where I had a camera available.

Where I am now and out of balsa. Wish I hadn't used so much on my other two ships.

Thanks. Hey I know there is links and pictures for laying the fiberglass. I was just wondering if anyone had a good method for fixing issues in the fiberglass like bubbles and such. I have been cutting them open or sanding them down and then laying some more epoxy over the top.

are they bubble bubbles or just bugles you can sand down? For bubbles I use the method you described except i sand them down instead of popping them open. as far as i know not much more you can do once the stuff is hardened.

Yeah I have been sanding down both. I guess I can always cut a piece to put in an empty spot and lay it down. Hopefully have it done tomorrow and on to more exciting stuff.

If they bother me I cut them open, sand/grind them down and patch them back over. Otherwise I ignore them. Usually I just try to squish the bubbles out. Little ridges and bumps in places balsa doesn't have to stick don't bother me.

Thanks for the input. Yeah I started sanding and if it came up I just laid some epoxy in the hole and pushed some cut up fiberglass into the mix. Should be over done by today.

Thanks Beaver. 3rd try so I am getting more practice in. Now I just have to complete everything else and quit making the lower portion of ships and moving to the next.

Done and done. Lots of cutting, sanding and making a mess. Now hopefully on to bigger and better things.

Looks great so far, nice build. I will be moving over to brushless with the VDT, so it will be a new learning curve for me. I learned a lot at NATS this year from the fellas, and brushless seams to be where most folks are at or headed to.
