Which Navy Yard museum? The DC one still exists, I worked on the navy yard for a couple years. For hard area, I like to go conservative on rule compliance, especially for non pond-side adjustments. It should be fine to get shafts and rudder post mounted with the normal 1” below cut out
As you like, it's just that your marked area around the rudder seems a bit thin to me. Wouldn't want a ram to take that out or something. I have the same feeling about how some of the German battlecruisers end up looking in the bow, but such is the way of things, I guess.
Windows cut out, thickness is good almost everywhere. I tried out a multi tool but quickly reverted to Dremel, I had a lot more control with the Dremel and didn’t want to risk the stingers A bit of repair where the glass pulled back
It worked well on the cruiser but had some issues with the sodak, I did the whole layer at once, then tipped the boat on the side for the first side, the side that was in the air delaminated a bit. Moving forward I’ll either do multiple batches, or just skip it. I also was light of the catalyst, so everything took a while to set up, might go a little higher whenever it gets warm enough to lay another hull down I actually got some weekday boat work in today, motor mounts are drying
Since the last post I filled in along the deck rim, and added waterchannel today Deck rim cut down with pump outlet tubes Waterchannel I used dowels cut to length as depth gages (dark spot showing) Aft area, more will be built up in extreme stern, keeping it low for solenoid stacking main length
Maybe yes, maybe no haha Turrets and barbs draw up today, thanks to @bsgkid117 for the turret file planning for two magnets for mounts
Looking good @Kevin P. My own is progressing quite well. Hope to show it off on Saturday at the build session in MD.
Deck rim finally sealed completely, barbs and turrets printed, barbs installed. This thing is built like a tank next will be cleaning up deck pieces a bit, gun construction, mock install for component placements. I’ll start superstructure at some point as well, maybe bilge keels
