Tell us more about that spool?

it’s hard to see from the photo how strong it is.

It’s a simple spool attached to underside of float, so strength isn’t a key factor, the spool is printed in two halves, with a 1/8” hole down the middle for a fiberglass or stainless rod, simple printed supports. Dimensions for this specific one are 1.125” dia for the spool and about 3” long, it holds 10ft of 3/32” cord easily. I have a 10-24 screw through the bottom of the hull as a lifting anchor

Got it. That’s on the float.

What do you have it anchored to on the hull?

several things to address, needs to go on a diet, need to cut down the rats nest, going up in motor speed from 900kv to 1100, some co2 system improvements

Glad you could make it @Kevin P. Also glad that despite the weather you were able to get some valuable combat trials for South Dakota.

Some work before the Maryland battle this weekend. Shifted to larger gun hose, added a solenoid, plastic mags for weight considerations

Updating this build with some more details
I made two decks since this boat has the unique feature of having two aft triple turrets and enough units to fill them. It was a major design decision that I had to build the rest of the boat around, fitting 3 bottles and 6 aft solenoids and accumulation tanks. I’ll take some more internal pictures soon, but here are a few from testing
    IMG_1803.jpeg
Getting them to hit together was important, this was a shot while dialing the two groups in

test on a few boats that need resheeting
    IMG_1806.jpeg
    IMG_1807.jpeg
They need some more work to get them performing that well on the water, I ran them 1st sortie for two battles and both campaign

    a few shots from nats

    And a highlight video

Very nicely done! It appears that you had the same problem I had, of not realizing how close your stern guns were really hitting. I'm afraid that I dumped too many shots in the water Monday and Tuesday.

Yes, the on board camera is enlightening, explains why our hit rates are so low
