Yep! It's actually a North Carolina. If you dig around, you'll also find Bismarks mislabeled as H-39, Dutch Battlecruisers called Scharnhorst, and a Prince of Wales called King George the Fifth. Needless to say, I have gotten much better at ship recognition since then. However, there are some people in my club who don't even know what class of ship it is they own. I was told it was a SoDak, and only realized it was the North Carolina when I went searching for SoDak photos for you. Someone bought a German destroyer, and later found out it was the French destroyer Le Fantasque! It's still got a German camouflage scheme on it.

Ship identification is a delicate art. Each nation has its own style of building, and noticing that can help narrow down the choices. After that, the number, type, and location of armament, number, shape, and location of smokestacks and masts, hull features, and overall superstructure contain enough clues to identify a ship. This can even distinguish between two ships of the same class built by different club members, which comes in very handy when I'm adding descriptions to photos on the WWCC website.

    Short answer: yes

The picture labeled "Battle 117" shows USS Alabama firing on my Spahkreuzer. Three holes are visible in the side of my ship. I have another image (not posted) that was taken a split second before and shows only a single hole. The two new additions line up perfectly with the path that projectiles must have taken from Alabama's aft turret to the splashes and then to the hull of Spahkreuzer. This leads to the inescapable conclusion that the USS Alabama was the source of the new holes. The holes are at the very top of the penetrable area so they aren't life threatening, but they are holes and thus scored points against my team. They just didn't make up for the battleship HMS Rodney that my team and I had sunk minutes earlier [xx(]

Thanks for pointing that out. Now I know who got me. I'll be sure to return the favor (plus interest) this weekend [}:)] muHAHAhahahaha!!!

SP-1 is German, if that's what you're asking.
