The IRCWCC will be holding it's first annual "SPRING SLAM" in Hagerstown Maryland on May15th thru the 18. This is open to ALL CLUBS. That's right all clubs are invited for fun and lots of action. There will be door prizes and give away's. We are going to have venders there for all you're RC. needs. (I hope). Lunch will be delivered lakeside. There will be a LOT more info coming soon. I just want to let everyone know the date now so they can pencil it into there battling calendars now. Don't miss the action and adventure. PLEASE send this to all RC clubs you know. Big gun , Treaty, Buckeye, Any and all clubs will be welcomed. Please contact me at spedracr2@aol.com Steve Andrews President IRCWCC
The plan. as I understand it, is to start with a sortie of IRC rules, then a sortie of Big Gun, then one of Treaty. After that the second sorties will go in the same fashion. Except on Sunday, we plan a "Fight what you brung" battle in which Big Gun and anyone else who wants to battle together can. Maybe we will find out if IRC speed can offset Big Gun Firepower. Marty
Why not make it fight what you bring for the event. That would make a very interesting event. I like the idea of an open event to allow all the different styles to compete.
We do plan one battle of that type. There also is some talk of some one on ones of cross rule ships (i.e. Big Gun vs. Fast gun) Marty
Here is an update on our planned Spring Regional! The park has agreed to Sat, Sun, and Monday. Friday is still up in the air. May 15-18 is our plan with IRC style battles at 10 and about 2 or 3 pm. Other formats (big gun, treaty, etc. have their sorties between our battles so we should have contious running battles! Hopefully, there will also be some vendors there (including BC, Of course). Sunday we are planning a "fight what you brung" battle where IRC, Big Gun and anyone else can battle each other. Hopefully we will get everyone together and the hobby will be better for it!
Marty I am forwarding the up-dates to all of the folks out here, and look forward to supporting this great event. Well done. Mikey
Carlo You can pit next to me any time. The French will be dining on snails dipped in garlic sauce. I might even be willing to share a room with you. Mikey
Watch out I fart. And it seems only right that you should dine on snails, you are what you eat, right.
Thanks for the warning Carlo. I really appreciate it. I am, to be honest a little confused that you would feel the need to mention that though, as I was under the assumption that you didn't think it stunk. Haha. Consider yourself lucky though. I am at that point in life where one can't always trust a fart. So I am a little jealous of your predicament. Mikey No frog legs for me thanks.
At this time, it looks unlikely that I will be able to attend the Hagerstown event next weekend. I am way behind schedule on my Hood build, which must be finished in two weeks for our Denmark Straits event, and I have not been able to make any progress in the last week or so, due to events here at the homefront. I am still hoping to attend, to support this grand event, but it doesn't look good at this point. I will keep you posted. Mikey
Sorry to hear that you might not be able to make it. I hope that some of your fellows will drop by. They don't need to bring boats, just drop by to say hi! If a few can bring their boats, they can battle in between our sorties. We don't count holes either at regionals. Marty
I will not be able to attend the event this weekend in Hager'stown. Not only is my new Hood not finished, but I have not had the time to go through either of my old boats to make sure they are combat-ready. I will be staying put, and trying to get ready for the Denmark Straits battle next weekend. Hood must be finished by then. I wish everyone the best of luck. And my appoligies to all for not being there. Mikey
