How much clearance do you have from the top of your batteries to the sub deck?

I might have to go that way for the batteries. I think it will be a tight fit on the Tennessee.

You will have room if you go this route.

That may happen sometime in May Jay at least early June for sea trials.

Some more work done on the Mo this weekend. Iowa's Captain worked on the wing struts and installation of a pair of dual sidemounts for fitting. We worked on the funnel Caps but those things are driving me nuts.

Throttle servo in the mount with the throttle swtiches. The switches are held in place by brass pins. They can easily be removed for replacement.

A lot of Balsa blocks abound. Mostly failed shapes.

Finally got both Funnel caps made correctly or at least close to it. The main Control tower is finished too. I will be working on the Superstructure this week and hope to begin sheeting in an week or 2.

Nikki, it looks like he's using the foam from us at Strike Models. It's foam we bought form the manufacturer in Los Angeles then had cut to the various thicknesses that we need.

Djranier -- I'll ask and see.

Nikki -- I have no idea. There are many, many different types of foam. We get stuff that's close, then we test it by firing a bunch of rounds into it.

This foam holds up very well. My Bismarck at Nats contained all of the original holes from 7 yrs of hard fighting with Nabs. It was repaired first time in 1999. Then from there it went unrepaired absorbing hundreds of more bbs and again many thousands more at 2010 IRCWCC NATS. I since have a new superstructure package from Strike to use as a show boat structure and keep the original for battling only. The foam is easy to work with. I find it very durable, takes paint pretty good and you can sheet it with styrene or protect it with termite armour.

I removed the rear structure I had made the other day. I forgot that it narrows towards the top so I made another one.
This piece of structure at the top was very confusing indeed. The plan shows it as a round cylinder yet looking at other Missouri models such as the 1/96 build on the site Warship models underway I was able to see the structure clearly before the detail clutter was attached. It shows it similiar in shape to the larger section of the conning tower beneath the uppler platform. I find the plans are not very accurate in the drawings of the items represented such as the shape of the gun tubs on the main turrets and AAA platform near the rear stack. On the drawing thier drawn as circles only but looking at the models and photos they are cleary not. So I will correct this . Making adustments as I go.

The aft tower is the first one I made before I spotted the error.
