Well this doesn't really matter because the build is just for convoy action anyways, but I am so anule about building that I wanted to ask. Building an Akagi. Started with some plywood here in the pnw that decided it didn't like to stay straight so I worked with it and got it straightened out via slicing and dicing to where it looks okay. Epoxy has been added. Just looking at the shape of the hull and wanted to know if it can have stringers. Only reason is that I want to be able to say "Well yes it can but I decided not to add them" or since I am pondering the layout of everything else add them in and go from there. Some of you are really good at knowing what does or what does not get stringers. I don't know if there is a database with ship info and if it can have them or not. Thanks
There is no database. Look at the plans and see if you need a stringer to properly define a hull feature such as a bulge or armor knuckle. If you don't then you don't need a stringer. If you do, you do.
